The 2018 Vans BMX Pro Cup Tour Pros are selected from the top 10 riders from the 2017 Vans BMX Pro Cup point standings. The Tour Pros are pre-seeded directly into the semi-finals at every Pro Tour event, and are also pre-qualified for the 2018 series World Championship finals. The Tour Pro roster will expand throughout the season with the addition of the top three podium winners from each regional qualifier, who will advance to the Vans BMX Pro Cup Pro Tour, and also secure their invite to the Vans BMX Pro Cup World

The Vans BMX Pro Cup Series is also proud to expand the 2018 World Tour with the addition of two new Regional Qualifier events in the United States and Chile, encouraging more talented BMX riders from around the world to earn their way to the Vans BMX Pro Cup World Championships. The five confirmed Regional Qualifier events are open to registration by all professional men and women BMX riders beginning in Santiago, Chile on March 23. The top three podium winners from each Regional Qualifier will advance to the Vans BMX Pro Cup Pro Tour, and secure their invite to the Vans BMX Pro Cup World Championships.

His critical second place finish bumped up his overall rankings to edge out former leader Sergio Layos to take the victory. Annihilating the custom-spec cement park course in Huntington Beach as part of the Vans US Open, Edgar’s showstopping airs and effortless technical style has surpassed the world’s best BMX park riders, earning him the coveted World Championship title, in addition to the crowd favorite Big Air Award.

The Vans BMX Pro Cup World Championships kicked off today in Huntington Beach, CA at the Vans US Open of Surfing, gathering 40 of the world’s top BMX riders for the event’s adrenaline-charged prelim rounds. Series pro, Dennis Enarson’s enormous transfers and powerful riding dominated the custom-spec pro park course to put him in the semi-finals lead. Qualifying in second, crowd favorite Kevin Peraza’s unflinching determination for a place on the podium shook-up the title race, while local hero and speed demon Kris Fox qualified in third. The top 20 riders from today’s semi-finals rounds will advance to the series’ first Vans BMX Pro Cup World Championship finals, Sunday, August 6.
