On a sunny day I got my bike and rode down to the Berenkuil graffiti spot in Eindhoven. I'd passed the spot a couple of times by car and noticed some new paint on the walls. Time to head down there with the camera and take some shots. This is part one (of three) of street art pieces that are currently covering the walls of this legal graffiti spot.
The second issue of Circle showed up attached to the new issue of FreedomBMX. The video magazine made by Thomas Fritscher and Markus Wilke sees some interesting distribution this way in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Issue 2 starts off a bit rough. Looks like the riders had to huck a lot to get their tricks pulled on the flatbanks and cobble stones after a long winter. The sound of the rough landings and brake cables hitting the frames didn't add to the smoothness of the first part. Things smoothed out when the pros met at the Simpel Session in Estonia. The man who has become known for making miracles happen on his bike is now doing his part to make miracles happen for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Greenville BMX star Dave Mirra recently donated $20,000 to the eastern North Carolina chapter of the NMSS after winning the money during the Toyota Celebrity/Pro Grand Prix of Long Beach earlier this month. Mirra, who is best known for his success competing on the freestyle BMX circuit, won the pole for the celebrity race held April 15 in Long Beach, Calif. Earning the top starting spot was worth $15,000, and the 33-year-old took home an additional $5,000 for winning the race.
