From now on UNITY in Germany is the distributor of DK Bicycles. DK produces complete bikes as well as a complete parts line. Next to Germany, Unity will distribute the brand in: The Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Portugal and Italy.

OCTOBER 20, 2005 -- CARY, NC After seven years as the editor of Ride BMX and BMX Business News, Mark Losey has relocated to the east coast and launched Quality Content, a company producing photography and content for websites, catalogs and promotional use. Losey will remain on Ride BMX as editor-at-large.
An avid BMXer since 1982, Losey’s first entered the industry as the associate editor at BMX Plus! in 1992. After 5 years there, Losey became editor at Ride BMX and BMX Business News. During his time at both magazines, he shot over 100 covers.
It is with great pleasure that I announce that Padded Cell Supplies Ltd. are now the new exclusive UK distributors of Redline BMX bikes.
Redline is a brand with its roots firmly intertwined with those of BMX itself and Padded Cell prides itself on it's commitment to and passion for BMX in all its forms. Redline has been largely missing from the UK market for a couple of years, but after talks at Interbike this year the deal was struck between Seattle Bike Supply and Padded Cell which will see the newly improved and revamped Redline bike range reintroduced to this country.
Redline have recently taken on a trio of riders, Mike Escamilla, Dustin Guenther and Rich Hirsch who have worked hard at improving and updating the bikes so that the entire range shows the quality of construction and design that Redline BMX race bikes have long been known for.
October 17, 2005, Vista, CA - After nearly twenty four years of leadership in developing the Haro brand, Jim Ford will resign his position as President and CEO of the company effective October 28th, 2005. In explaining his decision, Ford had this to say, "This was probably the most difficult decision I have ever made. I've invested nearly half of my life into this company and I'm saying goodbye to a lot of people who I consider friends and family rather than employees, associates, and customers."
Ford will remain available to the company to assist in the transition to new leadership and to insure that business continues with as few interruptions as possible. "I joined Bob Haro in early 1982 and from that first day, Haro has always been a great place to work. It's both a company and a brand that inspires pride and passion in virtually everyone who has been associated with it throughout the years. And those qualities are what made the job fun and challenging for me for so many years".
We did make it to Las Vegas for Interbike in the end. It was a one-handed trip and shaking hands was done with the lefty but at least we were there. I'm glad too that I made it. The bike show is more of a reunion of BMX-ers/friends than anything else. Oh yeah, there was new stuff to be seen too, we'll make that the reason for our trip. Go through the show with us. We've collected some pics and we'll make up some text to go along with the photos. Ready, set, go!
Chrome is back. Believe it or not, but it was out of fashion for so long that it's cool again. GT is feeling the vibe and had this chrome complete bike on display.
DIG BMX MAGAZINE has found a new home at 4130 Publishing Ltd, publishers of the UK's RIDE BMX MAGAZINE (AKA "RIDE UK"), effective immediately.
The editorial line-up that put DIG together won't change, and the same goes for editorial control, so you won't be seeing T-shirt shootouts in the magazine any time soon. It'll still be DIG, through and through. More so, even: with 4130 behind it, Will Smyth and friends have plans to make DIG the magazine it always wanted to be.
It's a moment in BMX history. Have your place in it.
Eurobike kicked off the 2006 Trade show marathon. The show seems to get bigger every year. It's hard to find good space for a booth and the brands who decided to display outdoors were lucky this year as it did not rain.
What was new? KHE had a fair bit of new product at their booth. From a 249,= Euro complete flatland bike to a new freecoaster hub, a super light tire in two sizes, a 10,25 KG complete bike, new Prism tires, a prototype stem and a chain that works with the super small 9T sprocket in the back. All KHE complete bikes are now assembled in Germany. Goldie (Butler) still has a signature model out.

Doug Martin formed Blue Room Sports, a marketing and communications company serving the cycling and sports industries. Blue Room Sports formalizes the independent work Martin has been doing for the last two and a half years."For some time now I've worked with a number of companies in a variety of marketing, communication and overall branding capacities including athlete and team identification and securing, team and venue sponsorship, co-branding partnerships, print ads, catalogs, PR, web initiatives and much more," Martin said.
He has held executive marketing and sports marketing management positions within the cycling industry for more than 15 years.
