Day 1 of the tour is over & it was a great start to the trip. First we went to Crossley Cycles for a shop appearance & Richard Crossley put on a bunch of pizzas which was really cool of him. A bunch of freebies were handed out & everyone left with something for coming out. Next stop was Ride On BMX & there were plenty of people packed into the store to hang out & get themselves some freebies.

Jet Pilot team rider Jaie Toohey has gone back to back and taken out the 2008 DK King of Dirt held at Pine Rivers Park Brisbane. “We are stoked on Jaie, he has come onto the team and in his first event as a Jet Pilot rider he has taken out one of the bigger events on the Australian BMX scene”. Jet Pilot Marketing Manager Chris Apps said

Jaie who took out the event in 2007 backed it up this year to win again with a high scoring 1st run in the final that could not be run down by his competitors which included Nick Cooper and Cam Pianta who finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Jaie who returned from his maiden season competing on the AST Dew tour in the United States this year said he “felt the pressure” before the final, but was all smiles as the last of the riders who could defeat him came unstuck on his 2nd run giving Jaie the win. “I’m stoked with the win as this gives me a good confidence boost going into the BMX games in Melbourne at the start of next year” Jaie said 

The Day started when we arived at the place around 2 o'clock. The floor was already laying there so I took my bike out for a spin and it was really perfect so the day started good. After a half hour a lot of riders from Holland were already representing and more kept showing up. Also Spain, France, Germany and Belgium were there to represent. In total there where like 30 riders.

At 16:30 we started off with Expert qualification and which were followed by the finals. 8 expert riders including Pascal Nanko from Germany Alexandro (don't rember his last name) from Spain were battling for 1st place. The heat was really on and riders were droping some hard tricks.

Amsterdam is always worth a trip. Love that city and not because of the coffee shops or the red light district. I like the vibe so just being in the city is fun. The Last Battle Of The Year flatland comp took place at the Apollo sports hall today. A decent number of riders showed up (for Dutch standards). We took some pics during practice. Enjoy the individuals.

On the 27th September, we celebrated together the 30th anniversary of the snakerun of Liège (Belgium)... 6 months ago me and my friend Nikos planned a trip to the Netherlands. We planned this trick because traveling to ride your bike is the greatest deal of all. We chose the Netherlands because it's the motherland of bicycles...  When we first arrived in Amsterdam, we stayed there for four days and the first ramp we rode was an metal miniramp in the center. Mark Niesink is back in Holland after some roadtripping in Afghanstan to fight the Taliban! So the NBR crew organised a welcome back jam in the Meker skatepark in Middelburg. The Meker is a small skate park in an old Gym. But Mark Fox showed us that you can ride big on small ramps. He did some huge wallrides and airs. The tailwhip was a very hip trick that night so I say boycot that trick in 2009 and come back with some good stuff. All together it was a nice jam night with technical riding from Vladdie, Michael

Vert riders, relax, here's you finals report. Yup we posted the street part earlier today but we should not forget about the vert contest either. You see, vert contests are scarce these days. This year only a very few halfpipe contests took place in Europe. The BMX Masters was one of them and if I am informed right, only a few vert riders showed up at the Nass comp. Damn, that's not much. Of course a few vert shows are done left and right and in the USA they've got the Dew Tour and also the X-Games events usually

In case you haven't watched the Berlin comp Live on Freecaster I'll go through the street contest with you real quick. 8 riders made it to the Sunday program and they were cut into 4 duo's that went at it in a head to head system. 2 runs each, best run counts. Bruno Hoffmann and Rob Darden kicked off the Street comp and it was a close call. Bruno is so consistent it isn't even funny. When you think he's going to fall, he pulls it somehow. Bruno has his own style and it's refreshing to see someone ride who does not simply copy a certain style that is popular today. No 3-whips or flairs from Bruno but 540-s to fakie from the deck of the box jump and hangover toothpick grinds. Stuff like that. Rob Darden has been on fire all year and also in Germany he knew what to do to make it happen. Rob's style is fast, he's all over the place, he's got the tricks and he knows when to do them. Bruno was out, Darden transfered to the final 4.
