This past April, the Éclat team, consisting of the UK's Ashley Charles and the US's Chester Blacksmith, embarked on their first team trip, from Germany to London, England, ultimately culminating in Spain. The purpose of the trip, aside from simply trying to enjoy what everyone expected would be warm spring weather, was to celebrate the launch of the Éclat brand. Both Chester and Ashley's newly outfitted bikes featured Éclat's Webster seats, Tibia cranks, Surge pedals, a new CNC sprocket and Éclat's prototype hubs; and the trip served as Éclat's first product trial by fire of sorts.

The crowd at FISE in Montpellier were loving Venezuelan, Daniel Dhers. He's been having an amazing year and has obviously built up a lot of support. His reign at the top continues with a win at the first leg of the 2008 Braun cruZer Tour. From the first practice runs on Thursday he showed all the competition he was the man to beat with his super quick style. During the finals he was executing tricks with insane accuracy. This continues to be the year of Dhers, he must be absolutely stoked having won the Street contest at FISE also. 

Terry Adams just traveled to Veracruz Mexico to ride with the locals and compete in the Revolcon BMX serious contest. Terry reports: "The flatland Scene is Mexico is growing really big! If you ever have the oppertunity to support a BMX Event over there, Please do so!"

At the Free Flow Tour’s Rye, N.H. competition, the first stop of the 2008 season. Nicolai Rogatkin of Lincoln, Mass. (BMX park) and Kevin Colla of South Winsor, Conn. (BMX vert) pulled out wins in the BMX competition.
Following Saturday’s BMX action at Rye Airfield, Rogatkin, 12, took home the BMX park title, while Colla, 21, won the BMX vert competition.
“It was crazy. I had a blast,” Rogatkin stated.

The Hellentrails in Goirle have been around for about 5 years. They're located at the Frankische Driehoek which basically is a big grass field in the center of the town. At one point in time the local council decided to plow the trails. The locals were pissed and soon the jumps were built back up with the help of some heavy equipment. It was time for another jam at the Hellentrails. It had been sunny for a few weeks and the sand was impossible to work with. The local fire patrol had been warned but right in time the Dutch weather cooperated and showed two days of constant rain. It was exactly what the trails needed and on the day of the jam it stayed dry. The sun even came out which was great. The PA system was doing its job, two Dixies were around, trash containers were placed and the main lines were roped off so people knew where to watch from. The turnout was decent and the trails were actually challenging, especially for those who were there for the first time. A little pump track in the back had the little ones occupied. Last Sunday street jam Deventer went on. With over a 30 riders from all places it was a big success. The weather was good, maybe a bit too good. Everywhere you looked were topless bike riders, and there wasn’t enough water and beer. The boys from Rotterdam (and boys who think they are from Rotterdam) went loose. Boy was shredding every spot and Jonathan threw all his bangers out on the spots. Highlight was his big and really far stair drop to hop to hop! Unbelievable how quick this boy with his hooligan talk can hop. 

High-flying action continued at KIA X Games Asia as more than 15,100 fans cheered on their favorite athletes at KIC Jiangwan Sports Center. The day was packed with thrilling contests by some of the world's best athletes competing in BMX Park. "We're thrilled to see the raised excitement as well as the growth in the understanding of action sports from the Chinese fans since we were last here a year ago," said Rick Alessandri, Senior Vice President 

X Games Brazil Confirmed For 2009. Premier International Action Sports Event Will Return To Sao Paulo. Based on the great success of the first edition of X Games Brazil, ESPN and event partner ReUnion Sports & Marketing have agreed to host the event for a second consecutive year in 2009. More than 43,000 people gathered at the Sambodromo do Anhembi, for the first ever ESPN X Games Brazil in Sao Paulo. 

Last weekend I was either going to be in Mexico for the Elevation contest or Leende for the Pony jam. I was stoked to only have to drive 35 minutes to make it to the Backyard Digger spot to witness the Pony Trails jam. The weather was beautiful and the trees made some nice shade. We arrived just in time for the Pump Track Challenge and decided to enter that for the heck of it. We took some pics and had to leave as a BBQ was on the program but Dale Reves and his boys continued and it went something like this:
