It’s my first time at the BMX Masters in Cologne, Germany, and I’m loving it! And hating it at the same time, because I’m missing out on riding. Yesterday’s qualifiers for Mega-Mini-Ramp and Dirt looked wicked fun to ride, the ramp and the jumps looked so good, and the German crowd went wild for everybody. The park course also looks great. Riders with any style will be able to throw down in it. The event so far has been way crazier than I expected, and we’ve only been through a day. We’ll see what happens as the weekend gets better and better. Now to the highlights of yesterday’s events.
The first event of the weekend was on the Mega-Mini, or Super Ramp. This is a Mini ramp with two back to back vertical 7-foot spines, 7 foot quarters, a huge sub, a 10 foot vert-wall, and a 6 foot lip to lip box. You really have to be here to understand how crazy it is. Riders have to be so dialed to survive on this ramp.
Daniel Dhers qualified first. He pretty much tricked every obstacle on the ramp, which is almost impossible.
Alex Coulbourne came in second, doing a lot of amazing
