Saturday 27 March 2010 the 5th Rookie jam will be held in Cologne, Germany. Many kids will be asking their parents to drive down to the AbenteuerHallen Kalk and in fact, the parents can enter the 30+ "ET" class themselves. The contest is laid back for the kids to enjoy. The classes for 2010 are:
-Rookies: Till 12 years old -Amateur: Starting from 13 -ET Class: 30 and over.
It's 5 Euros to enter. Pre registration only. Registration stops on 25 March 2010. The event gives riders a chance to experience what it's like to enter a BMX Freestyle contest. Park set-up. Indoors. More info:
Plans for a little pump track were made a while ago but since yesterday things started moving, quickly! Dirt was transported to the spot in Brandevoort all day long and this morning the digger started to shape the dirt into a little pump track. Good thing is that this place is 1km from my house, they're building it to a few drawings I made and it will be public for everyone to use. Severed Alliance bike co was an idea I've had for years, I always kept in tune with the new developments that bike companies were using and after a long conversation with a friend I thought, what the hell I'll give it a go. This company is years in the making and my goal is to make the stuff that I want to ride, and if others want to ride it too then thats cool.Severed Alliance is from England but we get all our stuff manufactured in the far east like most other companies out there. The tubing we use for our parts however is somewhat different
Day 2: After a good sleep we got up pretty early again to make things happen. Weather was awesome, at 9am we already hit the 25 celsius mark. It´s warm in SoCal during winter but it does get dark early too. So for some outdoor riding we needed to get it done by 5pm. We drove something like 10 min and then by total coincidence past a ditch. It looked pretty cool from what we could see from the freeway so we decided to take the next junction to hit it up. Arriving at the ditch we figured we just found a pretty famous
