Vans Classic Lites return for Spring 2017 showcasing innovation across colourways and styles synonymous with the brand. By infusing several Vans silhouettes with modern construction methods like UltraCush Lite technology, the iconic footwear staples such as the Authentic, Old Skool and Sk8-Hi transform into Classic Lites models with improved fit, increased comfort and super light construction. A continuation of the Vans legacy while signifying its progressive design ethos, the Authentic Lite, Old Skool Lite and Sk8-Hi Lite are modified versions of their original vulcanized forms, presenting a diverse assortment of lightweight and comfort-driven Vans Classics with a monochrome appearance.
This spring, Vault by Vans and artist Taka Hayashi come together once again to present the 17th season of Hayashi’s signature Vault by Vans line with the introduction of the Derby Nomad LX. As a revered veteran of Vans’ design team, Hayashi’s commitment to meticulous craftsmanship continues to push the boundaries of Vans footwear design, while maintaining Hayashi’s distinct style and persona through his creations. Available this spring, the Derby Nomad LX is offered in two premium pony hair and suede offerings. The pony hair leopard style debuts in Black Coffee and Tan color variations and is inspired by the late ‘70s punk and hip-hop scenes in New York. The premium suede Desert Mohave and French Vanilla offerings feature a simple, clean look on the sophisticated silhouette.

This spring season Vans introduces the Freshness Pack. Marked by the predominance of red, white and blue and taking inspiration from the 90’s, this range includes hoodies, graphic tees, accessories and footwear. The featured garments adopt a minimalist and 90’s anti-conformist approach to fashion, which is a contrast to flashy trends featured across other decades.
Across footwear, new iterations have been introduced across the Authentic, Old Skool, Era and Sk8-Hi silhouettes. Much like the apparel, footwear features strong seasonal colourways with a throwback to Vans original year of birth ‘1966’ emblazoned across the heel of the iconic Old Skool and Sk8-Hi.

The Vans BMX Off The Wall BMX Street Invitational returns to Huntington Beach, CA on March 25. The contest brings together the biggest names in BMX Street riding, as well as amateur riders to the Vans Off The Wall Skatepark. The Vans BMX Street Invitational honors the sport’s elite as they illustrate their style across urban terrain including stairs, handrails, ledges and banks.

Vans pays tribute to over 50 years of “Off The Wall” design history by releasing the Anaheim Factory pack, a collection of Classic silhouettes that draws inspiration from the original footwear produced in Anaheim, California. When Vans opened for business in 1966, a 400 sq. ft. retail store was connected to the front of the production factory, which sold a handful of simple canvas footwear. Today, Vans calls upon those early styling cues to release a modern update to Vans Icons. Every design element within the Anaheim Factory pack could be dated back to the late ‘60s and early ‘70s. Style numbers are used to signify the original design mold of three footwear models – the Authentic 44, Old Skool 46 and Sk8-Hi 38. Each style utilizes a marshmallow sidewall with a higher profile and is treated with a slight sheen that was present after going through Vans’ early vulcanization process.
