October 2018 BMX Events:
Monster Energy would like to congratulate James Foster for putting on a stellar performance at the X Games Sydney and scoring a silver medal in BMX Big Air in front of a packed house on the final day of competition. The contest was a heated match between some of the world’s best BMX riders who were putting it all on the line for their chance at X Games glory. The competition saw plenty of action from the field of eight who were given four runs to land their best tricks in front of an excited, sprawling crowd in Sydney.
Foster was riding with an unabashed passion and determination and secured the podium with his third run, which consisted of a massive backflip triple tail whip into quad flip that was easily over 13” and he landed super clean.
Judges awarded the veteran 90.33 for his efforts, which was just shy of the gold medal position forcing Foster, the two-time defending champ, to settle for second place.
“I had a crazy morning and was all stressed out,” admitted Foster after the event. “I lost one of my kneepads and had to put on two different ones, so by the time I got over to the venue, they had already started the contest and I only had five minutes until it was my run.”
“I gave it everything I had on my first run, and each run after that,” continued an astonished Foster. “I think I went higher on my third run, but, I couldn’t have possibly hoped for a better day today,
Monster Energy would like to congratulate team rider’s Kyle Baldock and Colton Walker for taking silver and bronze, respectively, in BMX Dirt Finals at X Games Sydney 2018. The action popped off in front of an excited crowd at the Spotless Stadium inside Sydney Olympic Park on Saturday afternoon in Australia. Ten of the world’s best BMX riders took the course, which included three jumps, for their chance at earning X Games glory. Each rider was given three attempts, which made for an exhilarating contest that was action-packed and filled with some of the heaviest BMX tricks in the game.
Baldock, 27, is no stranger to this event and definitely had his heart set on gold being on his home turf and having his mom there to watch for the first time ever. Unfortunately, he had to settle for silver today, but still rode with plenty of passion and sent it for the fans.
“Just to be here and actually have X Games in Sydney, and have my mom here for the first time ever is so good,” said Baldock. On the last run I just went for it — X Games mode. All the boys made me go out and send it.”
Baldock came out swinging, and laid down a super clean first run, which was filled with amplitude, style, and technical tricks. The judges were impressed with his run which included; a 360 flip, front flip no hander, and ended with a cash roll. The crowd went wild for the cash roll, which he put down

“I have very little time in my life for anything outside training, media work and racing. Amongst other things, I remember we instantly clicked on our shared love of design and American vintage muscle cars. Hurricane Park's have become renowned for their box jumps and this park is no exception. We also see the return of the legendary "cradle" that we first saw in Chengdu last year. We can't wait to see how the riders incorporate these features into their runs. This park will play host to the UCI BMX Freestyle Park World Cup. There is also the added excitement of the events being the first to count towards qualifying for the Olympics in Tokyo 2020. Current leader American Nick Bruce will be determined to hang on to the top spot, however as he is coming back from his recent shoulder injury this will not be an easy task. He is being closely chased by 2017 champion Daniel Dhers currently in second and his Red Bull team mate Marin Rantes who sits in 3rd.

We organised the first edition of the festival primarily for young people, and we still do it.
