Sports can often have barriers to access that are difficult for people to get over. Football and hockey, for example, are both games that have obstacles that can prevent people from playing. If you don’t have enough players with the appropriate equipment, then football isn’t an option. If you don’t have an ice rink and the equipment needed, then you can’t play hockey. However, this isn’t the case for all sports out there. In fact, there are plenty of different sports that you can take part in with minimal requirements in terms of equipment. Take a look at our list of sports that have a low barrier to access.
Baseball This is often a sport that’s overlooked when it comes to being easy to play. However, the fact of the matter is that all you actually need is a bat and a ball. Once you have those, then you can start playing. You don’t even need anyone else to play with you. Just throw your ball up and hit it. Or make your way to the batting cages and start swinging at a whole host of balls. It really is that simple. Playing the game doesn’t make you an expert, of course, and you won’t suddenly be able to predict MLB odds, but what it will provide is a lot of fun. Baseball is definitely one of the best sports to try out if you’re struggling for resources.
Sport is something that people of all ages and abilities can enjoy. It can help to bring people together while also helping them to remain healthy. That’s why no matter where you go, you’re likely to see crowds enjoying sports of some description. However, the popular sports of the time often change from year to year. There are a lot of different reasons why this is the case, but one of the biggest reasons is related to accessibility. We’ve taken a look at some of the top sports for young Americans in recent years as well as why they have started to take off.
The Olympics have evolved a lot over the years. The Games have gone from being a purely Greek test of sporting aptitude to something that encompasses the entire world. However, there are still a number of sports out there that don’t get the recognition that they deserve, and in some cases are ignored completely. Discover which sports we feel are unfairly overlooked and should be a bigger part of the Olympic Games as a whole.
Baseball Look, baseball probably isn’t that popular around the world. We understand that, but that doesn’t mean it should be completely ignored. In fact, when you compare baseball to a lot of the other sports that are featured at the Olympics, it’s much more popular – not just on US soil, but on a global level. It isn’t just so the US could bag more medals, either. While favorite MLB picks would possibly include some of the stronger players, there are more than enough athletes out there who can hit a ball and catch a ball to make it quite an even competition.
In fact, it could help to bring baseball to a wider audience and even potentially lead to a truly worldwide World Series at some point in the future. Baseball used to be played at the Olympics, so there is no reason why it can’t make the step back to being part of the Games again.
Sport has a lot of good things that it brings to the world. It’s not just how it brings entertainment to millions of people around the world, but how it also offers other benefits. It can help to keep people healthy, it can be an escape from a poor lifestyle and it can even save lives, in some ways. We’ve taken a close look at some professional athletes who have had their lives saved through sport.
Nikita Ducarroz This is someone who literally credits BMX with saving her life. Nikita Ducarroz has openly stated that at the very least, if it wasn’t for BMXing, she wouldn’t be happy with the life she was leading. Cursed with crippling anxiety, Ducarroz wasn’t even able to leave the house. You wouldn’t believe it from her performances in BMX tournaments, but there was a time when Nikita Ducarroz genuinely felt that her anxiety was destined to keep her indoors forever.
It wasn’t until she saw a video on YouTube of someone riding a BMX that she found the strength to overcome her anxiety attacks. Although it wasn’t an overnight solution, she started to make strides with her own issues. Her starting point was to save up for a bike and begin practicing tricks outside her home. As she got more skilled and comfortable controlling her bike, she knew that she would have to take some additional steps if she wanted to go to the next level.
