Cream BMX #12
Entreprise Mexicos put together one big issue with 132 pages. The pages are slightly bigger which makes the photos (of Manu Sanz) look even better. Jay Miron mentioned that he thinks Cream is the best BMX magazine out there at the moment and when Jay says something like that, it means something. He wouldn't say that about anything that is rubbish.
Cream is (in) French but it has some English text in it. The UK text in issue 12 contains the Editorial, Jim Bauer interview, Hollywood flatland jam, Ravage weekend, Dossier Le Sponsoring, Justin Miller interview, trail people jam, Metro jam, Olaf Pignataro photo section/interview, the Circle Jam, 430 Ninja House report, Joe Kid on a Stingray video
The best 2 Euros you ever spent on a BMX magazine!
Issue 11 has one picture that stands out. It makes you laugh, again and again. You look back at it and you will start shaking your head. It's better therapy than seeing a shrink. If you are feeling down, turn to page 58/59 and your day brightens up again. The picture almost made the cover of Zwanzig 11 and it actually should have because more people would have randomly seen it and made them smile. I hope you are getting curious what this photo is all about. Order your copy today. Ask for issue 11 and make sure page 58/59 have not been ripped out of the magazine yet.

While on the road I usually bring the computer to start downloading the pictures of the digital camera and to start messing around with the article. As long as I've got the laptop with me I know I won't be wasting any time at the airport or in a hotel room. The Aldi computer also plays DVD's and while sharing a room with Andy Zeiss in Munich, he threw the "Building the Underground" DVD on the table. I popped it in and hit play.
The Origin production is a DVD that focuses on the North-West scene of the USA. This scene has loads of concrete parks to ride but also incredible trails making this a must have for every trail rider that also messes around on street/park. The video shows that the big downhill trails are not only built in Pennsylvania.
The footage is great as is the music. The riders in the video are not all big name dudes, there are plenty of locals who shred the trails with too
The Odyssey Elementary Stem has been awarded with a "Design Distinction" prize in the Equipment Category of I.D. Magazine's 2005 Annual Design Review issue. The stem was one of 150 winners that was recognized from a field of approximately 2000 submissions, and shares the pages with entries from Nike, Apple Computer, Adidas, BMW, Jet Blue, Burton Snowboards and more. The July/August 2005 issue of I.D. is on shelves at major book sellers now.
From I.D. Magazine:
"Since 1954, the Annual Design Review has recognized the best in product, furniture, graphic and environment design, from the iconic to the obscure. Throughout the years, this annual showcase has chronicled the evolution of design, and highlighted its impact on our material and visual culture."
Tsunami Bomb DVD "Live at the Glass House" (Kung Fu Records)
The Tsunami hit last year like a Bomb and the "guys"
from Tsunami Bomb had their name on TV all over the world but they didn't want it that way.
Agent M is a combination of talent, beauty, and confidence leave her unmatched in the music scene today. She rocks the house and on the Warped tour they played to short to show the skills of Tsunami Bomb.
This DVD "Live at the Glass House" is covering 18 songs and is the 17th episode of Kung Fu Films' "The Show must go off!". 54 minutes of High quality filming in Pomona California is nice but I rather go to a live concert instead of hanging for the TV.
If you are a fan of Tsnuami Bomb it is a musthave, if you want to spent your money on something else: Send it to the Tsunami Victims!
Millencolin CD "Kingwood"
Out for a while but since Koji Kraft told me this is one of his favourite bands it is time to give a review so he can have this CD.
The Swedish guys from Millencolin are always touring, now they are in the Vans Warped Tour and just back from a tour in the US. In between the busy schedule they made this album: "Kingwood".
12 new songs with my favourites Simple Twist of Hate and Hard Times it is obvious that these guys play a lot and are working as a real team. Frederik, Erik, Mathias and Nikola are loving the Punkrock life and hope to meet you somewhere on the road.

The Uci BMX Super Cross event was last weekend and what an event it was! We are talking an amazing track, perfect weather, and most of the best riders in the world! This race was the first race to show the riders the new Olympic format. There will be some differences when the Olympics come but for the most part it was the same. We had over 50 Elite riders here this weekend and that made for some intense racing action! Our first moto was our 1/8th final, and then we went into 3 rounds of quarters, one semi, and one main. Here is how my day played out!
Right before my 1/8th I broke the cleat on my shoe. I tried to fix it but couldn't and had to race the moto with it broke. It made for an interesting lap as I had to come from behind to make it. I finished 2nd.
Quarters: First quarter, I was still working on my bike and showed up
June was one busy month. On the road every weekend now that the contest season is in full swing. Here's some random HARO related news:
- First up the injury updates. Ben Shenker (Hungary) broke his wrist a few weeks ago at the first stop of the Local Heroes tour in Hungary. He did a simple roll back and stepped off. Ben is now at RedBull's raining center in Austria to see if he speed up things to start riding again without taking any unnecessary risks. He's been digging some trails near his house with the cast on so he has something to ride when he's good to go. Second team rider that is injured is HARO Europe's Stefan Geisler. He broke three bones doing a vert demo in Italy and got some pins inserted to help the healing process. The pins were removed a few days ago and OBG is riding MTB and spending time in the gym every day to make sure he's ready when he can hop back on that Carolina blue Mirra Pro. Mike Cleveland (HARO USA) is out for a while with a broken hand.
Round 7 and 8 of the European UCI championships took place in Cheddar, UK last weekend. Thomas Allier is back from his nasty crash earlier this year and should be ready for the UCI BMX worlds in Bercy in 4 weeks time.
