Joe Kid on a Stingray will be a featured film at the upcoming Los Angeles round of the Bicycle Film festival. For those of you who missed the Joe Kid on a Stingray Hollywood premier last summer, this will be yet another chance for some of us BMXers to get together, hang out and watch a cool BMX flick

WHISTLER, BC, June 13   Red Bull Elevation, the world's most progressive BMX dirt-jumping competition, returns to Whistler Mountain on July 1, for a Canada Day blow-out that skips the fireworks but promises its own brand of high-flying entertainment. Red Bull Elevation skyrocketed onto the BMX scene in 2005, when it revolutionized the sport by bringing dirt-jumping back to the trails, Ryan Nyquist back to the podium, and James Foster back to the future with his landing of the first-ever triple tail-whip. This year, BMX icon Jay Miron will again apply his decades of experience to create an even more stunning and immense course, answering the call of the world's best riders to go even bigger and faster. "Last year we raised the bar on every previously held competition. This year, we're raising it on ourselves. Believe it or not - the riders actually want bigger jumps," says Miron. "So let's give the riders what the riders want. Honestly, these guys are going to come as close to flying as anyone's ever come on a bike." 

If ya haven't heard, some of the SE riders have gotten broke off recently.

First, Fernando Sabat went down at the Real Ride contest the other week and broke & dislocated his elbow. Check the pic. Nasty! Then Travis Postany just broke his leg at the CFB contest in Oklahoma. Let's wish these guys a speedy recovery so they can be loftin' it again soon.

Tim Eichert and crew are inviting you for a session on the Bonn mini/vert ramp on 1 July next.  It starts at noon and ends whenever it ends (open end).

 The event is sponsored by Dickies, Eastpak and Vans so give these people some props next time you walk in the store.

The SubCulture jam is free to attend and should have some decent BMX and skateboard action.

13 June - Kenan Harkin 1974

If you want to cool off in the middle of the summer maybe you can head over to Vise, Belgium for a lake jumping contest. BMX Plus! will cover the event (just kidding). We only received the flyer of the contest but I believe they're giving away a lot of stuff at the contest. Look at all the sponsors that are lined up for this! Coke (?) is one of the sponsors and combine that with some Red Bull and you can count on an all nighter at the local techno in Vise Ile Robinson. First prize is a Seat car.

We're probably completely wrong here so go to www.waterjump.be for more info or visit the comp on 19 and 20 August and let us know what happened.

Belgium rules.

Today  the annual manual and prelims took place at the Download Festival in Donnington.  We'll give you the results here before we hop back in  the bus to go see Metallica live.  Jealous yet? The Annual Manual  once again went to Ruben Alcantara. Last year  he won $ 1200,= USD for it and I've heard this year it's more. You guys now start practicing your wheelies.  It's a rewarding trick.
A split 8th  place  in prelims  has Tom Stober and Dennis McCoy both making the finals making it a group of 9 tomorrow.  First place in qualifying went to Simon Tabron who had the tricks and the height.  Jimmy Walker is ruling the bowl and got 2nd with Joe Rich getting third. I'm doing this out of the top of my head and it's either Bas Keep or Koji Kraft in 4th or 5th. Anyway, they both made it. Zach Shaw and Matt Fairbairn fill the next two  places and together with Tom and DMC that will be the final of tomorrow. 

DC is stoked to announce the appointment of Dylan Clayton as the new UK Bike Team Manager for BMX, MTB and MotoX. Dylan, three times BMX world champion has been riding on the DC BMX TEAM for six years, gaining hands on experience from some of the best teams in world. As Dylan says " From being a rider I have a solid understanding of all the individual needs required to form a great team spirit. My first plan is to re-ignite public interest in BMX and the team through tours and team event attendances across the UK and Europe. Commencing with the Urban Games and NASS this summer" 

Old-School Corner: 22 years BMX in the Cologne Youthpark give enough reason to arrange an „Oldschool Corner“ with bikes and oldschool stuff at the BMXMasters 2006. There will be Oldschool-Sepcialists to provide information about the bike’s condition, technical riding tips and some old stories from the good old times...
Some changes for the diciplines: The two disciplines Miniramp and Vert will be collapse to one class ­ the Amateur class. Furthermore there will be the Pro-Class.

Last weekend the Vans King of Paca took place in sunny Marseille, France.
