More team changes coming up as brands are working on their 2011 set up and contracts are coming to an end.
-What's cool about the internet is that you get contacted by people that you haven't heard of much lately or you've never met before. This week I got a mail from Frank Litsky, Charlie's dad, who was looking for Kathy Schachel's address. The two got back in touch via Holland. Sweet. Also Vincent Guedes got in touch and sent us a photo of an Athlete doing the Iron Man World Championships on a BMX cruiser bike. That's 180 kilometers of riding after swimming for 4 kilometers and right before the 42.1 km marathon run starts. That's sick! Vincent is fully into the triathlon sport and is looking great. Hit him up on Facebook if you have lost touch. The Pin Up photo this week was sent in by Albert Moonen, another friend that now keeps in touch through the internet.
-Last week it was announced that GSX are taking over the BMX World Cup Supercross series but they will still be licensed by the UCI. Today the news arrived that UCI's Johan Lindstrom has been appointed CEO of the Global Supercross (GSX) events Inc.
-Somehow the BMX jams and events keep going on. This Saturday riders will meet up in Eindhoven for the 3FM Serious Request jam. Starts at 3pm at The Building on Strijp S in Eindhoven (Pim van de Bos' park) and there's an afterparty planned as well. On Sunday the Waalhalla jam is on the program. Stop complaining, start jammin'.
-We did a bunch of interviews lately, here's a small list of the ones that might be an interesting read for you.
*Mark Koenig got injured in URK, NL.
*Krys Dauchy interview. Factory GT freestyle in the '80-s.
*Dave Dillewaard. The endless summer lover.
*2010 UCI SX champ Laëtitia Le Corguillé
*Street ace Alex Kennedy interview
*This girl does whips and flairs and barspins...
and loads more in the Profiler section on the site.
-The Dutch BMX squad moved down to South Africa for a few weeks to get some training done as there's snow on the ground here and it's cold as shit.
-The 2011 event calendar is already starting to get full. Events are already clashing so make sure to send in your event dates to avoid more of that.
-Also, if you're in a team manager position or you have a BMX company and want to spread the news, make sure we're on your 2011 mailing list. We'd like to inform the BMX community with all types of BMX related news.
-Greenville BMX Pro Town the movie will premier in Greenville in a few weeks. Mark Losey is spreading the word. Here is the event poster.
-Woodward Europe is still in the developing stages but we got the scoop from Gary Ream about the set up which sounds amazing. Don't expect a full on camp program in the next couple of months, but boys, it's in the works. Over at Woodward in the USA more focus is placed towards making inhouse music videos, stunt schools, FMX, and will a motocross track be added? Good job Steve!
-Cinema wheels are adding two more riders to their team. One of them is from Europe. To be announced on January 1st.
-We partnered up with PropsBMX.tv, a new site with new ideas and content from the Props crew. Check it and read all about their new ideas.
-We got a report up from last week's Arnette BMX Bash event in California. Daniel Sandoval was the big winner there. Read what happened HERE.
-Flo Sailer releases some thought from time to time. We received the following:
I often notice that a lot of riders think to be a pro means to have an easy going life (dream on dreamer!). That´s for sure not true and especially not for BMX Flatland Pro´s. So what does it mean to be a Pro and how does it work? Listen:
1. To be the best rider on the planet is an option but not possible for everyone!
2. To win contests is good but don´t think that bigger companies will come to you asking to sponsor you, you always have to promote yourself in a proper way to get good sponsors!
3. Learn to loose!
4. Learn to win!
5. Trying to get everyone to like you is a sign of mediocrity!
6. Really never give up!
7. Build a business besides being a Pro to have a good life after your riding career!
8. Never sleep ;) and be smart!
I really just see a few rider in Europe out there who I would call Pro´s, like Alex Jumelin., Mathias Dandois or Mike Steingräber. - Flo.
-We had the intention to have more girls be part of "Girls Week" but for several reasons it didn't always work out. We had Cheri Elliott on the radar (of course) but she gets hit up for interviews all the time and couldn't answer: Hey Bart! :) Thank again so much for wanting to include me. You are awesome. Sorry I missed the girls week, my friend. Please understand I received 100's of emails daily, and on top of that I do not have my Facebook emails forwarded to me automatically. THANK YOU so much for focusing on the women. ALL CLASS, Bart!!! Have a great Holiday Season, my BMX Brutha!!! :) ~ Cheri
-Chris Mahoney is planning on entering comps again in 2011. After a multiple year show program at Phantasialand in Germany he'll have time again to hit up the big contests. Sponsors wanted.
-The first Sunday of December we took a trip to Berlin for the Extreme Playgrounds. Good times over in Germany as usual. Here are the results:
-Results BMX Vert Final Four
1 Byron, Vince AUS 92.50
2 Zurita, Coco CHI 91.33
3 Coleman, Austin USA 90.67
4 McCann, Steve AUS 89.17

What we didn't report about was the best trick contest which was won by Alex Coleborn with a 360 whip to footjam whip on a quarter. Second place was for Zack Warden with a bikeflip 360 over the box and third for Jason Phelan with an uprail toothy to whip off.
-We did 7 interviews with 7 girls who made it in the BMX industry. Find their interviews in the Bizznizz section on the site.
-This time of the year we're trying to make things work for next year so we can give you the comp reports, BMX news, rider interviews etc. like you're used from us. In short, we're looking for advertisers who want to support the FATBMX website in 2011. Thanks for recommending/considering, let's do this again next year.
