The 2013 DUB series is one to follow. After stops in Barcelona and Frankfurt, the street riders are now going to meet up in Rotterdam, Netherlands on July 27th. The plan is simple and effective: meet up and ride from spot to spot. After one spot is killed, cruise on to the next one. Feel the power of being a BMX rider when you stop traffic cruising the streets with 500 riders.

After 6 months of shite weather the sun has finally come out. Time to run an online competition where we can give away three pairs of Blueprint sunglasses. On Wednesday, July 17 at 10 a.m. ET, ESPN will announce the next North American City to host a summer X Games event. The four finalist cities are: Austin, Texas; Charlotte, North Carolina; Chicago, Illinois; and Detroit, Michigan. The announcement is the conclusion to a competitive selection process that began in October, 2012. In January, ESPN announced 13 qualified potential host cities, with official proposals from cities due on April 2. The four finalist cities were officially announced later in April.

The 2013 Vans US Open of Surfing, owned and operated by IMG, will take a step out of the water when artists such as Modest Mouse, The Faint and Twin Shadow hit the House of Vans Stage for one of the most anticipated programs during the Open. Even if the SNIPES BMX WORLDS presented by MONSTER ENERGY today was „only“ open practice for the amateurs and pros in Park, the Street Area, the Flatland tent, the Dirt jumps and the Vert, it sure gave a big hint of how things are going to go this weekend! In the early afternoon we were lucky enough to see no one less that Mat Hoffman do a relaxed spin on the Vert, while Matthias Dandois and Terry Adams held a training session in the Flatland tent. In Park, BMX Worlds habitue Daniel Dhers was doing incredible 360 Whips to Barspin over the massive Jump Box, while nearby on the Street Set-up, Felix Prangenberg gave his best on technical Uprail Oppo Hangover to Lookdown.

On the tremendous Dirt Jumps, riders from dozens of nations turned all over the place, and Cologne's own David Theissen dropped with Tailwhip in the monstrous Roll-Inn.

Our friend and BMX brother James Shepherd is in the hospital under mysterious circumstances, possibly a hit and run. No one knows what happened to him, yet, but he has a fractured skull and broken: jaw, neck and clavicle, as well as an injured ACL. Full details on all of his injuries are still not being released. He will be undergoing a series of surgeries over the next 5 days.
