We've added flyers of events happening in 2024. Some are being held indoors but not all of them. Check before you make any plans. If you have event dates, if you've got something going, send us the info. We'll put your event on the FATBMX Event calendar so more people will get to know about your race or contest or jam that you're putting on. We're here to spread the love but you figure out yourself where you need to go. Contact the event organizers before you head over. The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) today published on its website the list of TV broadcasters for the 2024 UCI Urban Cycling World Championships, which will be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, from 17 to 21 December, combining the UCI World Championships of BMX Freestyle (Park and Flatland) and trials. The event will have TV coverage on all five continents, allowing fans in most major cycling markets to watch most of the competition finals. The main channels for each continent scheduled to broadcast the event are (information available as at 13 December):
Africa: SuperSport (including Nigeria, Tanzania, Kenya, Sudan and South Africa);
North America: FloSport (USA and Canada);
X Games today announced a new three-year partnership with California Dreamin’ Entertainment which will bring the renowned actions sports and music festival to Cal Expo in Sacramento each summer from 2025-2027. California Dreamin' Entertainment is re-imagining the former Raging Waters site at the Cal Expo/California State Fairgrounds in Sacramento and is leading the city's partnership with X Games. X Games Sacramento 2025 will bring three days of action sports culture and competitions to the capital city August 22 - 24, 2025 and will mark the 30th anniversary celebration of X Games.

- Renewal of the UCI Athletes’ Commission for the 2025-2029 period -
The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) announces that the composition of its Athletes' Commission will be renewed in 2025. The new members will be elected by their peers at the 2025 UCI World Championships for the different cycling disciplines represented on the commission. Since 2017, the commission has been made up of 20 members, with each of the included disciplines BMX Racing, BMX Freestyle, road, track, mountain bike cross-country, mountain bike downhill, para-cycling, cyclo-cross, trials and indoor cycling – represented by two riders (one man and one woman).
The members will be elected for a term of four years, which will take effect at the 2025 UCI Elective Congress, to be held in conjunction with the 2025 UCI Road World Championships in Kigali (Rwanda), or at the time of their election for those who are elected after the event in Kigali. The term for all members will end at the following Elective Congress, on the occasion of the 2029 UCI Road World Championships in Denmark.
The President of the UCI Athletes' Commission, a position currently held by Katerina Nash (Czechia), the female representative for cyclo-cross, is elected by the members of the commission and sits on the UCI Management Committee, the executive body of our International Federation, which operates under the authority of the Congress.

UCI BMX Freestyle World Cups Japan, France, China, C1 Aigle, Switzerland, Olympic Games BMX Freestyle and BMX Racing in Paris, and the European Flatland Championships in Luxembourg. Coming up this year still: Zonder Pardon Jam at Area51 and the World Champs in Abu Dhabi.
With 120 BMX events on the FATBMX calendar for 2025 already, it looks like we won't have to worry about the future. From the smallest sessions and jams all the way up to the Olympic Games, we love it all as long as there's BMX involved. For now Merry bmX-Mas to all of you and thanks for the support. Simple Session 2025. The 25th edition of the annual Simple Session contest series, one of the worlds most prestigious action sports events will move back to its long term home – Unibet Arena (previously known as Saku Suurhal Arena), taking place on March 8 –9, 2025. The world-renowned international contest will once again host 150 contestants from 35 countries and their newest show-stopping tricks at the cozy Unibet Arena, the place that everyone has come to love through the series. As one of the most international action sports events out there, Simple Session 25 pits the globe’s best BMX riders and skateboarders against each other on it’s magnificent one-off contest course, so watch out for the ultimate show of progressive riding ever seen!
On Saturday December 7th the “Zonder Pardon” crew and Area 51 team up to host the first ever ZP BMX JAM. Get ready for multiple challenges like the long jump, rail battle, Best Trick and many more on the newly built streetsection (and small bowl). Indoors, so you know it's happening.
Artists like @jespfur and @andyandtheantichrist will perform in the park for you to go even bigger.
Every age is welcome to join and will be able to win prizes too. So no hesitation kids and adults.

New National Aussie Talent Academy aiming to unearth next BMX freestyle superstar
Ever dreamed of touring the world as a BMX freestyle athlete and representing Australia at the biggest events on the planet? Are you ready to take the next step towards making those dreams a reality? The pathway for aspiring BMX freestyle athletes has just become a lot simpler, with the launch of the AusCycling BMX Freestyle National Talent Academy.
The BMX Freestyle National Talent Academy will replicate academies in other disciplines, and identify, develop, and support amateurs who aspire for elite status by enhancing the skills needed to progress through the performance pathways.
After doing a BMX 'zine for ten years (1987 - 1996) FATBMX made it on the internet. The year was 1998. Here to stay.
