FATBMX partnered up with the Belgian BMX Open, Belgium's biggest BMX comp that will take place this weekend in Hasselt, Belgium. Constant rain forced the organizers of the BMX WORLDS 2012 (July 13-15) to cancel the final day. After the program of the official BMX Freestyle world championships was continually interrupted by heavy rain showers the previous two days, organizer Stephan Prantl and his team announced the cancellation on Sunday afternoon. More than 400 pros and amateurs from around the world had gathered at the Kölner Jugendpark, to fight for the titles of World Champion in the disciplines of Flatland, Park, Street and Vert. No finals could be held in Park and Vert. The new world champions in the other disciplines were crowned on Saturday. In the coming year, the most important BMX Festival will once again take place at the Kölner Jugendpark fom July 12-14.

The Dew Tour today announced the competitions and the invited athletes for the Pantech Beach Championships in Ocean City, Md., August 16-19. The new Dew Tour - featuring three large-scale, premium events - will debut with a mix of returning and new Skateboard and BMX disciplines, Surf and multiple music performances. The Dew Tour Pantech Beach Championships will be free to attend. While developing the new Dew Tour, Alli Sports and Mountain Dew - reinforcing their long-standing commitment to the action sports community - have garnered feedback from athletes, agents and industry veterans.

Mongoose Bikes today announced that they will host the first ever Mongoose Jam this summer. Since its inception in 1974, Mongoose has always been an innovator in BMX, continually setting new standards and pushing the boundaries of the sport. With the Mongoose Jam, they continue to bring their authentic blend of camaraderie and grit to one of the best-known stages in BMX at Woodward West in Tehachapi, Ca., just two hours from Los Angeles.

This BMX-only event, which will take place July 25 – 27, will feature competition among five teams, each headed by one of Mongoose’s pro riders. The Mongoose team captains will choose a group of four pro BMX athletes, and will draft one amateur rider from the AmateurAudition open to all Woodward campers, to compete in Park, Dirt and Street contests. Each team will select two riders to compete in each discipline. Teams will earn points according to their placement in each contest to choose the overall Mongoose Jam first place team.

We can't wait to go visit Axel Jurgens' Eurocamp down in Spain in a few weeks. We're actually camping out over there from 21-27 July. The place looks too good. Next to the 800m2 skatepark they've also worked on a foam pit, pump track, dirt trails, 800m2 street park, spine miniramp, and a resi set up. And this is Spain so most likely the sun will be out. So there's a swimming pool AND private beach to cool down at. On top of that there are 3 nearby skateparks, international riders visiting the spot (Stefan Lantschner and Rubio during FATBMX week) and professional staff handling the campers.
