The countdown has started! In three days one of the world's largest BMX festivals will open in the Kölner Jugendpark: from July 13-15, the Cathedral City on the Rhine will again be the pilgrimage site for the international BMX scene. Around 500 pros and amateurs from 45 nations will ride for three days in the disciplines of Dirt, Park, Street, Flatland and Vert, and, along with the expected 15,000 fans, turn the contest grounds at the Zoo Bridge in Köln-Mulheim into the Mecca of BMX sport.

In exactly one week the BMX Worlds 2012 from 13. – 15. of July will kick off in Colognes Jugendpark. Some of the best riders and a top of the notch course is waiting for you! The BMX community is already hungry for the BMX Worlds weekend. Some of the best riders from all over the world are making their way to Cologne. The general conditions are perfect. The riders from all over the world will ride in the disciplines Dirt, Flatland, Street, Park and Vert.

The folks over at etnies in Amsterdam sent over a nice package of etnies products to give away here on FATBMX in an online competition. The shoes are Men's RVS sample shoes in size 9 US with a DTTF Pro 1 inner sole designed at the Sole Technology Institude and they come in Navy blue. Monster Energy congratulates its team for yet another amazing performance at X Games Los Angeles 2012 last weekend. All in, the team earned an impressive 13 medals across four sports (Skateboarding, BMX, Moto, and Rally) throughout the four-day event in Downtown LA. Jamie Bestwick made history by taking a record sixth-straight gold in BMX Vert. He dominated the finals with the two highest scores of the event to make for a very convincing win. Bestwick’s Monster Energy teammate Vince Byron backed him up and took the Silver, his second-straight silver at X.

On June 30th Monster Energy hosted a party at the Club Nokia at LA Live in downtown Los Angeles to honor all of their competing athletes and celebrate the X Games weekend. Invited guests enjoyed music by Alabama born rapper, Yelawolf, Tommy Lee/DJ Aero and DJ Steph. Guests included Rob Dyrdek from MTV’s Ridiculousness and Fantasy Factory, BMX-ers Ben Wallace, Pat Casey, Scotty Cranmer, Andy Buckworth, moto icon Carey Hart with his wife Pink, moto athlete Jeremy Stenberg aka Twitch from VH1’s The X
