We've been busy. Really busy. Well, I've been busy. I don't know about the other guys, but I feel like I've been running on empty for over a month. It started out in California. Then it headed out with me to Las Vegas, then it followed me home to New Jersey and held me hostage for two days while we moved out of one house and into another. Following that escapade, I got to sit down for 13 days and work on issue 55. Somewhere in the middle of all that, there was a few plane rides, a few train rides, one bike ride across the German border into Poland, and a complete viewing of 'My Name is Earl: Season One.' When all was said and done, there was a one full issue of Dig done, full of interviews, interesting spots and a smattering of humor thanks to the Sent Items page and Sandy Carson's captions. 

Here's some news about the “Vibrations Urbaines” (9th edition), which is one the better “by and for riders" BMX contests in France. The Vibrations urbaines takes place on 4 and 5 November 2006 in Pessac (near Bordeaux airport, or station). For this year, we already have confirmed the following riders: Kye Forte, Caleb Kilby , Ricky Feather, Mike Miller and Barry Kohne.

What's your record eating at McD's?
Haha, uhm 47 Mc Nuggets. One day I had a little competition with some guys of my school. I ate 5 Mc Kroket (only in dutch Mc Donalds), 2 Mc Chicken, 1 Mc Flurry, 1 big banana milkshake and 3 big Coca Cola. And sometimes I eat a Big Mac in three times, did it again in Berlin because Barry Köhne wanted to see it.

Like last year Matti Roese sent us a flyer of the 2006 Berlin City Games flatland contest. The date will be Saturday 9 december 2006. There will be a PRO / Amateur flatland contest with 5000 Euro price money for the pros and prizes for the amateurs. The aftershow party will be taking place at the same location (Parochial Kirche - Klosterstr., Berlin, Germany).

It's Friday, time for another FATBMX Pin Up. We're taking you back to the Nora Cup once again. We might do so (or have to do so) till the end of the year unless you come across some good stuff that we can use.

The wait is nearly over, the Backyard Jam is only two days away now! For those of you who can't wait, here is a sneak peek at the street course, designed by Nate Wessell, which Nate and his team are currently building, as we speak! at the ICE Arena in Sheffield. FATBMX will have Craig Tull present to take photos of the Backyard jam so expect some photos and results after the weekend.

Oct. 23, 2006 — MADISON, Wis. — Pacific Cycle has hired Aaron Bethlenfalvy as Director of Industrial Design. He will work with all of Pacific Cycle’s major brands, including GT Bicycles, Schwinn, Mongoose, Kustom Kruiser and a variety of others.  A former GT Bicycles employee, Bethlenfalvy is excited to work with familiar brands and familiar people. “I feel like I’m back home again,” said Bethlenfalvy. “There are lots of familiar faces and this is an easy transition. The opportunities here are great to make a big impact on the cycling community with all these brands, and I’m excited to be here.”

verthaus jam #2 went down this weekend. The crew - Jean-Marie Bärtsch, Sven Kabosch, Shaun Eglington, Matt Fairbairn, Tim Eichert, Alex Etzold, Benni Kopp, Peter Geys and Eduardo Terreros - came over to Oberhausen to shred the ramp and work on their bowling skills as well. If you like a fun session with pushing each other - the verthaus jam it is. No first place, just the best out of every one. Sven pulled his first whip, Tim was going for a nine that he span all the way but couldn't roll out, Jean-Marie was using every inch of the ramp, Alex with an endless list of liptricks, Peter just came back from a shoulder injury and it was great to see him back on the ramp, Shaun was going high and smooth with some back to back moves, Benni came in late but put together some amazing runes at height, Matt was the first one on the ramp and seven hours later the last one standing - no idea where he takes the juice from - he did pretty much every barspin variation you can ask for and unbelievable big and smooth 540s. The Spanish Fly once again showed his smooth style
