On August 4th 2007, Red Cross Adventures presents a dirt jump contest in the city of Hechtel (Belgium). Peter Geys & his crew are inviting you to this bmx/music-fest. The success in 2005 with Garden of Vert at his backyard & the build of several bmx freestyleparks in the province of Limburg (Hasselt, Lommel, Genk), made the Peter - known as the Bikedevil - up for an even bigger concept: Red Cross Adventures.
Suzuki BMXMasters 2007 now weatherproofed The weather forecast is a bit unsettled, so we've taken steps to make sure the Masters can still go ahead, whatever the weather! Vert and Mini-ramp will now be roofed, with special seating being erected alongside the ramps. The flatland tent is up already – located as usual, so flat will be running events all weekend long!
Oh, come on now! It's time for a real bmx pin up! I found this rarity somewhere in the internet and it is great! Some sexy woman + BMX + old school! Yeah! And even though it's old school, it's totally freestyle since she's in some skatepark! Oh, I'm Otavio Raupp from Brasil Thanks!
Why make a lousy flyer when you can show a video clip online that tells more than a photo? Bibi and Dropsy made a funny clip to announce their first Barak Invitational dirt jam. Watch it here on FATBMX.com.
What an unbelievable day this has been. For once every single thing that we aimed for we achieved. Nothing is impossible! The day started early with the arrival a clinical ascessor from Craig Hospital Denver, Colorado. Her job was to determine whether Stephen would be suitable for their Rehab facility. During the 3 hour meeting, Stephen was accepted and a bed was available for tomorrow, Thursday, the last admission day for this week. The family were informed of how his Rehab programme would proceed.
After a successful kick off in Lohof with more than 65 starters from five nations PlayStation® challenges all dirt jumpers and trails riders to rock the newly digged dirtpark of Moers on July 21th 2007. This recently established location offers all that one can wish for: Two lines of varying difficulty with four doubles each are waiting for you to take over from last years winner Markus Hampl and get yours self qualified for a total of 1500 € prize money.
Like on every tour stop there will be a Best-Trick-Contest in addition to the regular dirtjump contest which, for the lucky winner, will be worth a PlayStation®Portable console. For all amateurs taking part in the contest there will be material prices, all riders finishing 20th or better will score for the overall tour ranking.
For the PlayStation® the Camp BMX Series 2007 overall champ there will be waiting another 2000€. After the contest all riders, friends and family are invited to chill with us and enjoy a delicious BBQ.
On Friday, 06.07.07, I showed up at around 7.15 am at the Office. The first thing I saw after I parked my car was a damaged window thrown in by a cobblestone! 10 days after we made the move into our new warehouse we had the first visit from a thief. Immediatly, I called the police as well as both owners Christian and Jann. A few minutes later the police arrived and had a quick look into the office. They didn't do anything special, no finger prints were taken and after a few minutes they left. For them it was just a normal housebreaking and they had no ambitions to find the housebreaker.
Warren Bancroft our Elite men’s rider shows the rest his skill and power The team rolled into action again over the weekend at a newly revamped Coppull track. Coppull is a fast and tricky place. Designed by Dylan Clayton it can catch the best riders out but rewards those that give it some love, attention and plenty of practice. A few of the team are local and they have put in the hours at the pace which showed during the races. I arrived just in time for the finals to begin, the forecast was for heavy showers and the camping field was pretty muddy but apart from a couple of puddles the track looked fine.
Nass was back in Shepton Mallet for 2007, with names like Mark Webb, Ben Wallace, Daniel Dhers and Ben Hennon the somerset crowd were in for a treat. It was the second stop for the Braun spine cruzer tour and even though it was quite windy the riders didn't hold out. There were a crew of Mexican bmxers who made the long trip to Nass and all had some good tricks and good style to follow.
Chris Mahoney placed in 5th and had a good solid run filled with tricks and finished his run trying to backflip the 7ft spine. Ben Hennon Placed in 4th and went so high over the spine I think you could of stood underneath him with your arms straight up and he still would of cleared you. Daniel Dhers who rode with his usual smoothness and consistancy.; 360 double whips, 540 tailwhip airs and invert flairs got him 3rd place. Ben Wallace placed in 2nd and rode the whole ramp from tech spine tricks like whip to over ice to back over to double whips and flairs and smooth rode with his usual smooth style.
Just 4 weeks to go until for the third time we say: “rebel jam- unfiltered BMX” in Berlin Köpenick/ Germany. Rebel Jam is still an international BMX contest of special character. As always the riders will start in the categories pro and amateur, and will have the chance to win €24.000 in 3 different disciplines: Street, Trails and Mini Ramp. For the international riders and visitors this might be the last visit to the Mellowpark, since the park will close down its 2500qm Street Area, Dirt Jumps and Mini Ramps by the end of the year and move to a new location. So for some of us this will be the last chance to ride and experience one of Europe’s greatest and biggest skate parks.
As in recent years, you can look forward to visit the art-gallery, which will be located in one of the adjoining buildings of the Mellowpark. This year we will expand the traditional photo exhibition with work from other fields of the art… but we won’t give away too much at this point…
