The StoppelCross season has started. The first race was going to be in Handel. The Aarle-Rixtel locals met up at Paul's place at 08:15am. We waited for Lippe to come over from Germany but he either got lost (again) or never got out of bed as he didn't pick up the phone when I tried to call.
7 riders left in 5 vehicles. Harm "CR 23" Vogels and Edward "Texas Ranger" Schippers in the front, followed by Bart "Shift" de Hoon in the company Caddy and the three vans of myself, Paul's Ford van and Bern Buster's Benz. Rob Nouwens scored a ride with Bern. 20 minutes later and we had arrived. It was going to be the first race ever for Harm, Edward and Bart de Hoon, all of them riding 250cc Honda's.
Through my job with HARO bikes I made another trip to the MTB World Championships. If you have to pick one race a year, it might as well be the biggest event. After a long drive I arrived in the French Alps, Les Gets to be exact. I ran into Dale Holmes who was already looking for hot bitches on his Free Agent MTB. I soon made my way over to the Boomerang bar which was supposed to be the hot spot in town.

Renny Roker, a unique promoter of among others, BMX.
Recently I received an e-mail from the USA by someone called BMX MOM. This mail made me aware of the fact, that Mr. RENNY ROKER, the promoter of the JAG BMX World Championships in the early days of BMX (1978 and on), has been instrumental in finally getting BMX recognized worldwide.

NO FRONT TEETH is the latest “RIDE UK dvd and the reason for the 5-star is not because Mark Noble send me a t-shirt / OAS DVD / Stickers or Tim March hanging out at LV but because of Alex Rankin making his best DVD so far. The riding scene in the UK is super good for years and this is being showed in “NO FRONT TEETH.
Riders like Luke Marchant / Paul Jefferies / Ashley Charles / Phil Dolan / Joe Fox / Kye + Leo Forte / Benson / Fraggle and last but not least Scott Edgworth all have their own sections with lots of different riding style and riding places it makes you staring at the TV at all time.
Aarle-Rixtel is a place well known in the BMX community. It's the town of the FAT-JAM and Paul's Boutique. A few years ago Aarle-Rixtel joined with villages Beek en Donk, Mariahout and Lieshout (home of Bavaria beer) to form Laarbeek. The local councils became one so if we needed a ramp of some sorts we had to go to this one place.
The IFMA show hasn't been the most popular trade show when it comes down to new BMX bikes and parts. The show is held only two weeks after the (more popular) EUROBIKE show in Friedrichshafen so if you've been to that show, you won't be seeing many new things in Cologne.

FAT's DVDMAN was on holiday for a while but coming home he found a bunch of new DVD's on the floor and is starting to review again. First I took this SOUL 25 cause I know that I don't have to watch an hour of bad filming/editing/riding so its just like a new Bad Religion CD: Always good and worth the money!
After 25 quality issues it's hard to keep people entertained but after Thomas Fritscher and Dominik Wrobel entered the SOUL crew to help out Thomas you see some changes and that's a cool thing.

CAN I EAT? by Animal
THIS DVD SUCKS! It sucks if you like Vert, Flatland, Dirt, BMX race but for STREET THIS DVD IS THE BEST! Animal is from the New York area and that means that there aren't any indoor parks or dirtspots so STREET is the only thing to do and these guys show you that the NY scene is the best.
Vinnie Sammon is the no brake Handrailking, mr Gonzalez,Jared Washington and George Dossantos are all wearing Glasses to see the spots better but forgot to put their brakes on too. Tyrone Williams found a brake somewhere in a bikeshop but isn't using it, he rips big time and Bob Scerbo is not only good behind the camera but in front of the camera too.
