Name: Brian Malmquist
Hometown: Valparaiso, Indiana but I currently reside in Charlotte, North Carolina
Started riding BMX in: Approximately 1985 so I would have been 11 years old
Number of bikes in the collection: 18 completes and 22 framesets waiting to be built
Next to working on cars as a hobby, do you find it easier to work on BMX bikes?
Brian Malmquist: Of course there are far fewer parts to a bike, but it's surprising how complicated they can be to put together properly sometimes. Different headset stack heights, tight bottom brackets, chains that go tight and loose, wobbly sprockets, dialing in brakes. I am a very detailed person, so I don't just throw a bike together for show. I build every bike to ride smoothly.

I went down to Cult to drop off some Clubhouse exclusive Peep Game Gear (shown at the end of the video) and figured I'd try and get a little behind the scenes on your favorite BMX brand. Few bikes have defined a generation of innovation and design the way Mongoose’s iconic designs of the 1970s and 1980s did for BMX. To celebrate the brand’s 50th anniversary, Mongoose is re-releasing limited quantities of three of its most recognizable early products. Next month, fans will be able to purchase special edition Mongoose Supergoose and FS-1 bikes, as well as the legendary Mongoose Motomag III wheels, on mongoose.com.

Ready to get wild? Introducing the limited edition exotic ACCEL Collection, born out of a hallucinogenic mishap in the Brazilian rainforest. Our beloved éS product designer, accidentally ingested the wrong kind of mushroom during his trip, sparking a series of events so absurd they deserve their own documentary. Picture this: after being flipped into a river by a surprisingly aggressive elephant (we're still trying to figure that one out), he had to outswim a crocodile with Olympic-level desperation. Clutching a low-hanging branch for dear life, salvation arrived—except that
Myself and the boys have been blessed with an opportunity to get out and film a sick biking video for Cult! Which we will be proudly premiering November 2nd.
The atmosphere at Erlangen was electric as riders battled it out on a technical and fast-paced Velosolutions Pump Track! With many of Europe’s finest using this as a final test before the World Championships, the competition was on fire from the start.
Women’s Race.
Sabina KOŠÁRKOVÁ was unstoppable, improving her time with every lap, pushing through despite a thumb injury to take the win! Anika PSYK secured second, and since Sabina has already qualified, it will be Anika who takes the ticket to the World Championships in Durban. Kristina MADARASOVA took third after posting her fastest lap in the finals, while Alina BECK, the day’s favorite, had an unfortunate run in the semifinals, coming off the track and losing her chance for the finals.
Local BMX team rider, Jayden Fong has been crushing it and he even caught the eye of Wethepeople, who he'll now be repping through BMX International. If you're not familiar with Jayden yet, sit back and enjoy eight minutes of high quality street riding. Some of those spots are magic too.
Nach fünfjähriger Kreativpause feierte das Woodstone Festival in diesem Sommer endlich sein Comeback und hatte zur Feier des Tages auch gleich noch einen C1 BMX Park Contest mit im Programm.
