For 2007, etnies presents the second annual Canadian Concrete BMX Jam series. This year we’re doing it again with 3 amazing BC concrete parks as the courses. Kirkstone, Coquitlam, and the legendary Seylynn snake run are the locations, and if you’re unaware of just how good the concrete is, just check any number of dvd releases in the past few years, and you’ll surely recognize them from almost any team footage (check the latest from Volume, Fit and Lotek for starters!)

We’ve got great prizing for the ams from etnies, and cosponsors LRG (lifted research group) and Dragon eyewear. There’s also $500 up for grabs at each of the 3 events for pro entries. Each and every person entered gets a free t-shirt this year, and its only $5 to enter am, and $10 to enter pro.

The Psykopath Van got loaded and ready and headed for the Pacific Coast National’s in Santa Barbara California!, Beautiful weather, beautiful beaches and awesome track! The volunteers at Santa Barbara BMX did a Great job Keeping the Track dialed the hole weekend. The track was fast so our rider, Nick Valencia was flying the hole weekend no wonder he got a call to be on the National Team.

When we went up the mountain this morning we saw mama bear and her three babies. It was amazing, riding next to a few wild bears.... Practice tomorrow starts at ten. Let's see if some bears show up. One guy who can't wait to ride the course is Ryan Nyquist. Here's what he has to say about the Red Bull Elevation comp:

1) What does the Elevation comp mean to you?
Over the past 2-3 years, Elevation has quickly made itself into the premier dirt jumping event of the year for us. 

Drew Bezanson is the latest addition to the international Shadow Conspiracy team. The Shadow team had been waiting for the right guy to add to the team and after witnessing Drew at the Toronto contest this year, Shadow knew he was the one. "We're beyond stoked on Drew not only for his skills but for the person he is, chill and a blast to hang with. Be on the look out for more on Drew in the upcoming Shadow team video and web edits."  - Shadow

Sometimes you have the most fun over little things. It sticks with the people who were there at the time. It doesn't make sense to others but as long as the few people get it, that's enough. When at the bar you come up with the greatest things. T-shirt ideas a plenty. In the morning however the slogans are far gone and will never make it on a T-shirt. This time it's different. At the FISE contest the phrase: "I'm so fucking awesome, I could cry......."  was born. And it stuck. It stuck enough for Paul to make T-shirts of it (this time). If you think they're fucking awesome, pick up the phone quick because they're running out soon (limited edition - 10 pcs.).

Actual Journal Entry "Rode to work in the morning at GT BMX. I got home & called Haro. They offered me a $500/month sponsorship salary & all travel expenses! I'm cool with that. It's a deal! Welcome to fatness! I'm going to quit my job at GT tomorrow. At night, John Paul Rogers & I drank beer & then rode down by Main Street in Huntington Beach & went to the heavy metal bar, Mazotti's. I met this girl (woman), Leslie. She's from England & she was all up on me. John Paul & I went to another bar with her. We had fun!

Stephen came through his operation yesterday and the doctors were happy with the way it all went. Having ths operation was the next big step that needed to happen. It was a big un at 7 hours but during that time they managed to stabilise his neck some more by pinning and plating the posterior side of his 3,4 and 5th cervical vertebrae. During this op, they also found he has fractured his T4 (4th thoracic vertebrae) and decided the best way for this to heal was to use a body brace.

There are a few further complications. He has a lot of crap on his lungs which is affecting his breathing. Because he is lying down his lungs are flat and this enables all the crap to build on his lungs and increase the risk of him catching pneumonia.

He also has a stomach infection cause by his body being immune to regular antibiotics, so he is now on IV antibiotics for the next 5 days which should clear it up. 

Once again I have to say that the response to initial message sent out has been absolutely amazing. Donations are coming in from all over the world! Stephen’s family is so proud of all your donations and generosity and it has brought some light to a dark time in their lives. Good news is that Steven is showing great potential compared to others who have suffered similar injuries. He’s an athlete and a fighter and we all hope the best for the up and coming months. STAY STRONG STEVEN!!!

We have also made a HUGE stride in the way of legitimizing the fund and are now receiving the help from a profound 501(c) 3 Non Profit Organization. What this means is that we can now receive much larger donations! We can now be involved with much larger scale opportunities to support Stephen Murray and many different plans are already in the works.
