With the historic introduction of BMX as an Olympic sport, Nike embraced the heritage and future of BMX with the Lightning Bolts Art Show, May 13th in Beijing. For this historic BMX moment, Nike brought together pioneers, cultural icons, legends, and the future generation of the sport to celebrate 4 decades of BMX.
Hosted in an abandoned petroleum tank in the 798 Arts District of Beijing, Nike 6.0 built out a full BMX course, featuring ramps, ledges, and hips. Nike 6.0 athletes Nigel Sylvester, Mike Spinner,
and Maxime Charveron
, performed for the crowds, showcasing the next generation and the future progression of BMX. As the night progressed, legends Eddie Fiola
and Bryan Blyther
sessioned the ramps, bringing BMX history full circle.
