With Men’s and Women’s Freestyle BMX heading to the Olympics in Tokyo 2020, Daytwo at our second global tour stop in Budapest, Hungary set the stage to showcase some potential Olympians. During the Women’s Final, livecast host Darryl Nau exclaimed, “Right now it’s so exciting - BMX is not just a male dominant sport, Freestyle BMX is a platform for women to get involved". With eight riders qualified for the final, a calculated and technical performance from 17-year old Lara Lessman cemented her with the gold in Budapest. Two different technical and consistent runs with smooth no foot can-cans, one-footed wall plants and a crankflip/barspin scored the German 84, placing her in 1st position.
