Mongoose pro Mykel Larrin made a trip to Colorado to film an all-dirt BMX edit entitled, Pure Intentions. Here’s the inspiration for the edit from Mykel himself:
It started with planned trip to Texas for the 3rd stop of the USA BMX Freestyle series – but then we got a DM from Cody Hennings. Cody is a local rider in the Dallas/Fort Worth area who also happens to own a private indoor ramp-filled warehouse called the Safehouse. We quickly took him up on his offer to check out Safehouse, and team Mongoose headlined by Mykel Larrin and Ben Wallace spent a full day riding this BMX utopia!
If you follow Mykel Larrin on Instagram, then you probably noticed that it seems like he's everywhere. On any given day, he's grinding a bench in downtown San Diego, roasting a hip at a park, blasting the vert ramp at Clairemont, cruising the jumps at Sweetwater Bike Park and/or finishing off the night bumping elbows on a race bike at San Diego BMX Racing.

Mongoose today signed BMX pro, Mykel Larrin. A native of Racine, Wisconsin, Mykel began his BMX career just a two-hour drive from the current Mongoose headquarters in Madison, Wisconsin. Known for his big air and fun-loving attitude, Mykel is a welcomed addition to the star-studded Mongoose team. “When I think of someone being a positive role model with great values, Mykel Larrin is one of the first names that comes to mind,” said Mongoose Team Manager, Leigh Ramsdell. “Not only is Mykel one of the best to do it on a bike, but the incredibly sincere vibes you get from him are so refreshing. With a new bike, a desire to learn and an eventual dream to turn pro, Mykel Larrin became a super local at the skatepark, learning to ride transitions of all types in the process.

Returning to Boise, Idaho for the second edition of the Road to X Games: Boise Qualifier, the world’s top skateboard, BMX and Harley-Davidson Hooligan athletes competed to secure their invitations to Minneapolis. In addition to the three events at Rhodes Skate Park, the qualifier expanded this year’s event to include Harley-Davidson Hooligan Racing at CenturyLink Arena. Over 12,000 fans witnessed six Men’s Skateboard and BMX athletes, four Women’s Skateboarders and 48 Harley-Davidson Hooligan racers punch their tickets to Minneapolis.
