Out of a field of 19 BMX riders, Bryan Lacombe won the BMX park competition and Anthony Garcia won the BMX vert contest Sunday at the Gatorade Free Flow Tour’s stop in Newnan, Ga. Eighteen-year-old
Lacombe from Fort Myers, Fla. earned the BMX park victory at Factory Skatepark after executing a tailwhip transfer and an alley-oop tailwhip on the quarterpipe during his winning run.
Jovanny Benitez was second and
Devon Smillie finished in third place.
“It was exhilarating,” Lacombe said.
“I’m so tired but so stoked to go to the finals in SLC. This is a big relief coming off a bad year for me.” In the BMX vert contest, 17-year-old
Garcia used an almost-flawless run that included no handers, bar spins and double seatgrabs to secure the win.
Benitez took second place in the vert competition as well, while
Cade Wall rounded out the top three.
