At one point you were the hottest talent in flatland, then you decided to stop doing contests, what happened?
Bram Verhallen: Hehe, well… That’s a long story which seemed to be hard to understand for most people. I cannot really deny that I’m one of the talented riders but hey, do you really think that’s what makes you happy? Contest riding feels like riding for somebody else or for the show. Is that what I am riding for? Yeah, maybe you get more money, clothes, shoes, whatever! But I am not riding for those things.. I am riding for fun! The reason why I started riding street is so that I could start all over again. Riding as a beginner is more fun than riding as a pro!

You even had your own signature frame from KHE, how did that work out?
Bram Verhallen: Actually that worked out great! Lots of people gave me good feedback so I’m happy for them to enjoy their frame. My passion for the past few years has been designing.

Has it sunk in that you will be the first South African to race BMX at the Olympics?
Sifiso Nhlapo: It hadn’t sunk in while I was at home during my 10 day break after Worlds, but when we drove to the airport for me to leave for my last 8 weeks of training leading upto the Olympics it home and I felt pretty proud.

What is the best thing about being world #3?

Did you ever ride on a salt mine? Okay, thought so. Alejandro Caro did and we checked with him on the experience of riding on salt. Are you salty?

Q: Is this your first interview?
A: No this is not my first interview. I have done some interviews for some bmx mags and sports mags

Q: You will be back in the States this weekend. What will you be doing there?
A: Yep back in the States finally this year. I will be going to Woodward East for the first 2 weeks, then I will be doing the open qualifying round for the Dew Tour and during that time I will be staying with mates to ride all the local stops and haven a good time
Q: What was it like to ride that insane Red Bull dirt pipe?
A: The Red Bull Dirt Pipe was insane! Turned up there and was like, I knew it was gunna be big but not this big, probably the scariest 

Andrew Jackson is Wethepeople's California connection. Friend and riding partner of Wethepeople legend Brian Terada, Andrew is part of the new school of riders that got way too good in a short period of time. Mike Spinner recently released some killer tricks. He is the first rider to pull a 720 double tailwhip (on the resi) and Mark Losey shot some sequences of Mike doing a triple whip on a quarterpipe and also a triple whip over a hip.  All at Dave Mirra's warehouse where shit goes down! Oh yeah, he learnt flairs too. We caught up with Spinner for a Top 5 list.
