The second BMX jam of 2019 was a banger! In Hoorn, a small town near Amsterdam, Sam City recently Opened a new indoor skatepark ‘’The sportcave’’ which is great! In honour of the new 2019 Fly Bikes completes introduction they organized a release jam in collaboration with Rock N Roll Distribution. The skatepark looks pretty interesting for most of the street riders in BMX because of all the ledges and creative rail setups. That doesn’t mean riders like Sem Kok can’t shred this park, because he surely was! The park includes some fun wallrides, hips and a foam pit. Fly Bikes rider Sem and his teammate Courage Adams all the way from Spain are representing Fly Bikes and were both killing it! Courage is known for his insane type of riding, just like Sem.
The jam was supposed to start at 8PM but it was already busy around 3PM so the vibe was there for sure! After a few hours riding and getting comfortable with the newest skatepark in NL, it was time for a Best trick contest!
DJ King Koen started playing some tunes and everyone was killing it! The best trick went down on the middle part of the park, including the long flat rail + A Frame rail. 15/20 riders where shredding this setup! Joeri Veul got a flat tire in the middle of the contest! He fixed it and did some of the sickest tricks of the day. Joeri ended up second place with an over smith to icepick 180 on the A frame rail. Simon, a Belgian rider did a massive half cab tail whip on the driver and ended up third place!
When it comes to going fast and going big, Larry Edgar's name comes to mind quickly for many riders. With that being said, Larry needs a frame that can hold up to everything he can throw at it! The 2019 AIRE frame is built from full seamless 4130 chromoly tubing with a relaxed head tube angle and longer back end to make it perfect for transitions and going fast, while still being able to take it out on the streets as well.
How To Build The Coastin' Ramp - Flybikes. Flybikes has always seen things a little differently, taken its own approach and thought outside the box, not only with the team they’ve built or product they produce, but also the content they’ve put out. One such piece of content was a video where the focus was of a team that that saw the simplicity in riding, hanging out together by finding an every day object to ride, in this instance a “pallet” and dragged it around the city to make “almost spots” into completely fun rideable spots. Ultimately, ending a day of amazing riding using the pallet itself as firewood to keep warm and cook food over. Those were fun times and amazing memories for the team...
Devon Smillie & Courage Adams: IN THE CUT - Flybikes "Journeys". You've seen the full riding edit from Flybikes' Courage Adams and Devon Smillie in Tenerife, now you can see what they get up to in between the insanely tech lines. These two are some of the easiest going guys out there, unless it comes to fingerboarding and then things get real.
Devon Smillie’s Fuego frame, now in its 5th incarnation, comes packed with even more tech and functional upgrades to meet and even surpassing the demands of modern day street riding. Filmed and edited by Calvin Kosovich.
It’s no secret that Larry is a beast on a bike, goes an extra couple feet higher than the next guy and has some of the best inverted 3’s in the game! With an amazing year under his belt, with high demands from travel and contests, this video became quite the journey. Originally meant to be only a few months in the making, at most, but between travel, contests, scheduling and injuries for both the filmer Nathan and Larry himself, it took a little longer than planned. As they say, good things take time and Larry was able to pull through and get it wrapped up! Power personified .... Enjoy
Sergio Layos rides Flybikes Lunar rims! Rims, historically, are something that don’t really change too much, but with the never-ending evolution of BMX, and Flybikes being a brand to never sit still it was time to freshen up our very popular Classic rim with some much needed improvements. Besides the strength and obvious design features of the Classic rim, the new Lunar rim includes a greater spoke offset for increased stability and refined adjustability, an overall taller shape, deeper rim bed for easier tire installation, thicker sidewall thickness for dent resistance, a rim lip that helps avoid pinch-flats, all rounded out with a perfect 34mm. width. The Lunar rim has it all!
