For three years, Monster Energy has brought together most of the best BMX dirt riders in the world to compete at a unique dirt event that has helped push the level in BMX. In 2017, Monster is proud to announce the 2017 Toyota BMX Triple Challenge at Monster Energy Supercross, a three-stop, open series that will finally bring together all of the best dirt riders in the world. Each of the three events will have up to 50 riders compete in an open qualifier with the simple goal of giving anyone the chance of being crowned the overall champion. Elite Men, Gaby Malenfant, Quebec, wants to make his mark on the International scene, during the last two seasons he race in the Supercross Series (UCI) and the World Championship in Columbia, making his final at the Nations Cup in Germany. In North America he made his first USA BMX A Pro final at the legendary Pittsburgh track during the Steel City National and backed is action by taking a solid 3rd place at the Canadian National Championship in Calgary, behind James Palmer and Olympian Tory Nyhaug.

The DK Bicycles Canada program, managed by Jagger Co. is excited to work with this young Elite rider full of talent, ready to rep the green colors of DK Bicycles National program. All this action will be happening in full Fly Racing gears and BOX BMX

Not long now before 2016 is over and once again the year basically flew by. We traveled the world to cover many BMX events and hope you enjoyed the coverage here on www.fatbmx.com. For 2017 we're excited to tell you that we'll have a brand new website. Many props to FATBMX webmaster since day one Jos Wissink of Four05 for setting it all up and transfering all 41.000 articles to the new home which will go live on 1-1-2017. As part of the Road to X Games content series, X Games will host the world’s top athletes in a Park Qualifier event on June 10, 2017 as they compete to secure their invitation to X Games Minneapolis. Streamed live from Rhodes Skatepark in Boise, Idaho, the Park Qualifier will feature three disciplines – Men’s Skateboard Park, Women’s Skateboard Park and BMX Park. In addition to the live stream, fans can catch the Boise Park Qualifier coverage on ABC as part of the World of X Games content on June 17, as well as coverage across X Games digital and social

The Dutch BMX scene got together on Friday night during the Moora Cup awards at the Skate Café in Amsterdam. The place was going to be opened the next day so having the wild BMX bunch in there the night before was a bit risky. But everyone behaved the best they could (ahum) and most of the nominated riders were present. BMX was celebrated and having everyone in one place together should happen more often because good times were had. And the winners are.....

Fresh off the championship stage at the USA BMX Grand National is 2016 USA BMX National #1 Amateur, Jesse Welch. The big news today is that Jesse will be zip-tying his new #1 plate to a new bike for 2017, and suiting-up for Factory Throdwn. As one of the fastest in his age class, Jesse is a major pickup for any team, even without the silver cup and black number plate, but joining an established team like Jim Buchanan is fielding, with a new bike sponsor, will add some extra-special

Vans announced the formation of the Vans BMX Pro Cup Series, a new global BMX competition to establish the premier global points ranking system and to define the BMX park terrain discipline. Poised to be the world’s preeminent BMX competition, the Vans BMX Pro Cup Series will kick off its inaugural season in Sydney, Australia as the series embarks on a global tour in 2017, concluding with the crowning of the first-ever Vans BMX Pro Cup World Champion.

This Friday December 16th the Moora Cup will take place at the Skate Café in Amsterdam. The new bar (with indoor concrete mini/bowl en paardenhoek) will be turned upside down when the Dutch BMX scene will welcome the cup winners.
