Grinds are, arguably, the most fun thing you can do on a BMX outside of simply roasting something. Learning how to grind and what to grind on can definitely be daunting, but Demarcus Paul is here to run you through the basics...
Today, etnies proudly welcomes X Games Real BMX medalist DeMarcus Paul to the pro team! Joining the ranks of Nathan Williams, Tom Dugan, Chase Hawk, Jordan Godwin, Devon Smillie and Felix Prangenberg, DeMarcus will fit right in with the etnies’ squad.
Originally from Albany, Georgia, DeMarcus’ natural street style speaks for itself as he is known to lay down hammers with a casual approach and humble demeanor. In addition to his 2017 medal in X Games Real BMX, DeMarcus landed the coveted ender of the 2015 Volume 1 BMX film and the 2018 Our BMX “Headlights” video.
When ODI sends you a hefty box of grips and you don't have that many friends...whaddya do? Head to the local and force people you don't know (and a couple you do) to do some tricks for some grips. And we threw in a few tubes because we're nice.
DeMarcus Paul on GT? You heard right! And we couldn't be more stoked! Getting Deemo on GT was literally, meant to be, as Product Manager Ben Ward put it, "When I first came on board with GT I made a short list of riders I wanted on the team and DeMarcus was on that list. At the time he was starting to blow up and got his first signature line by the time GT was in a good place to reach out. Not wanting to disrupt what he had going on, we decided to hold off. Low and behold 5 years later the opportunity presented itself to talk to DeMarcus and we had Jeff Z reach out. The rest is now GT history."
Season 2, Episode 2. The first ever repeat guest on Unclicked, Demarcus Paul, sits down to discuss some poignant topics within the world, what happened with longtime sponsor Volume Bikes, and who his new sponsor is...
A video with no tricks? Basically. When I met up with Demarcus to do the Bunnyhop How-To video, we cruised downtown San Diego and it was such a fun little cruise literally bunny hopping as many things as possible that I figured I'd just throw it into a little edit. Obviously nothing serious by any means...hopefully you enjoy the vibe.
It's been a while but we're back with another dose of Please Be Kind and Rewind - this time we've got ultra-talented Volume Bikes rider Demarcus Paul, and his selection holds a special place in our heart. This is a mighty fine choice for favorite video part - young street riders, pay attention.
