Get an inside look at Dennis Enarson's backyard BMX park!
Vans, the original action sports footwear and apparel brand, is proud to partner with triple-threat BMX team rider Dennis Enarson to put his spin on the Old Skool Pro BMX, featuring first-of-its-kind WAFFLECUP BMX construction that’s been designed, tested and approved by today’s top riders. Representing Dennis’ renowned abilities, refined aesthetic and focus on mental clarity when riding, the Enarson Old Skool Pro BMX leans on an earthy olive/gum colorway, and is debossed with a hand-drawn mandala based on one of Dennis’ tattoos, which was created by longtime friend, fellow rider and tattoo artist, Thomas Hooper.
“His tattoos always mean a lot to me and it’s nice to put some of his work on the shoe,” Enarson comments. “These are strong shoes that are hard to mess up, and I dig them more and more as they age, which I don’t think I’ve ever said about any shoe in my life —especially with how hard I can be on them. The colors and materials make this the perfect shoe for shredding, camping, or just stompin’ around.”
Specifically created with the BMXer in mind, WAFFLECUP BMX provides unrivaled support and durability without sacrificing precious pedalfeel. A herringbone underlayer adds a second life beneath Vans’ classic gum rubber compound that has a more rigid flex pattern – all reinforced like a tank.
Name Park: Doesn’t really have a name, we just call them the ramps haha
Location: San Diego, CA
What are the Covid-19 restrictions where you live at the moment?
Dennis Enarson: They are pretty loose at the moment. Seems like everything is normal except you see the masks every where and a lot of businesses are still closed. Looks like everything is loosening up daily.
How does it feel having a ramp available whenever you feel like riding?
Dennis Enarson: It is seriously amazing. It’s my favorite park in the world and its open to ride whenever the sun is shining. Couldn't be any more grateful.
Have the sessions been small in size because of the pandemic?
Dennis Enarson: Ya I chilled them out for sure. Just a few people at a time for now. Trying to stay safe and stay apart from each other too. I would like to think the people that have been coming over are super healthy but you never know. So we try and not breath on each other. Which isn’t too hard with a few people and a massive setup.
What kind of wood did you use for the ramp?
Dennis Enarson: Skatelite hooked it up and it is amazing!

Vans is proud to present Homestead, a fresh new edit from Dennis Enarson, Jason Watts and Corey Walsh, filmed by Christian Rigal. The impetus for the film came together after the three built a world-class ramp setup in Dennis’ backyard late last year.
