Munich Mash 25, the annual event at the Olympiapark in Munich, Germany attracts a strong group of riders each year. This time, with 5 other BMX events taking place on the same weekend, it was a bit harder to get the higher ranked riders to Mash, but the field did not disappoint at all. Enter Tom Justice, Dean Florian, Nick Bruce, Jude Jones, Marin Rantes, Jose Cedano, George Ntavoutian, Jacob Thiem, Sasha Cambon, Saul Vilar, Paul Thoelen and Sikharin Supanmart and you know the riding will be sick. With many different riding styles it was going to be entertaining in itself and the FOP with spine, small box, roller and quarters with hips and extensions on both sides and a wall in the middle, the terrain lent itself to some creative riding.
After day one 4 of the riders were eliminated from the 12-rider field. But on day one, a team comp was held which had Paul Thoelen play with the champagne regardless even though he missed the cut to the finals. Together with Dean Florian and Jude Jones the team comp was won. The head to head format with the teams made it easy to understand which team would transfer and the "black team" was the only team that won twice, making them the winners of the team competition.
When the finals started on Sunday afternoon it was hot in Munich. Still that entire grass bank was full of people watching the finals, beer in hand. With MC Maxsomenoise on the mic the 8th place qualifier started off the finals. 3 runs of 50 seconds each for each finalist with the best run counting for the final ranking of the day.
For over 20 years the skatepark of Kooigem, a small village of 800 people, has been the decor of a freestyle BMX contest, but due to know reason the new concrete BMX park that was finished in 2019 never has seen a contest, until last weekend that changed. The format of the City Battle stayed the same. Ride in pairs as a team and entertain the crowed. The public decides who won the battle and who so will advance to the next round.
This all takes place during a free music festival, and due to the insane heat the audience came late to the park. But because it's freestyle and there are no rules at this contest the 5 riders who showed up for qualy decided to play a game of bike instead to entertain the crowd.

BMX Dirt: Full Podium Sweep for Team Monster Energy Headed by Ryan Williams in 1st Place
Initially scheduled for Friday, the BMX Dirt final was moved to Saturday evening due to strong winds. But it was worth the wait, as Team Monster Energy swept the entire podium in one of the most epic competitions ever seen at X Games.
When the eight finalists attacked the dirt course with its sequence of huge jumps interspersed by a technical step-up obstacle, two-time defending champion Baker secured the top spot on his first run. And the New Jersey native seemed locked in place, until the last runs rolled around.
