Skateland BMX Open 2022 Aftermovie! Een weekend vol actie met het open Nederlands kampioenschap Street BMX en de C1 pro park wedstrijd waarmee er punten te verdienen waren voor de Internationale World-ranking!
NK BMX Freestyle 2021 Aftermovie!
The official NK BMX Freestyle 2021 will take place in Skateland Rotterdam on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 September. In that weekend it will be determined who can call themselves Dutch BMX Freestyle Champion for a year. BMX was part of the Olympic Games for the first time in Tokyo this year and is now officially an Olympic sport. Fans can now also attend an impressive championship closer to home. The NK BMX Freestyle 2021 is part of Rotterdam Street Culture Week that takes place in Skateland, among other places.
Three disciplines
In addition to the traditional Park and Street disciplines that were introduced in 2018 and 2020, a new discipline has been added. Flatland is an officially recognized part of the Dutch Championship for the first time. National Championships are now being held in 3 BMX Freestyle disciplines. 'Street' is ridden on the Street Park course where mainly tricks are done from stairs and rails. Park is ridden on the 'Park' course that mainly has high quarterpipes, boxes and spines'. 'Flatland' is sometimes called 'breakdancing with a BMX bike', the participants perform on a flat floor and do various tricks and combinations there. On Saturday September 11, the competition will take place in the Street and Flatland categories. The Park category will be held on Sunday 12 September.
Rotterdam Street Culture Week
Rotterdam is full of talents and grass roots initiatives in the field of street art, hip hop and urban sports.
Skateland Rotterdam has a fresh new park course! During the lockdown the guys at Skateland did some remodelling and added new ramps to the skatepark. My friends and I were very lucky to be able to cruise the park for a few hours before they reopen in the near future.

Lost of things are happening in the BMX scene right now and, as always, everybody has an opinion about what direction BMX Freestyle has to go…. Well this story will stay away from that discussion and will focus on why we (people with passion for the sport) wanted to start 2019 with a Bang and a Jam! Our beloved sport is coming from an all-time low and we noticed new faces popping up at the locals and commercial parks. Also it was time to get the scene together as a whole, no more politics but sharing the passion we all have for 16” up till 26”wheels, as one! We needed an indoor location where all types of riding could take place (except Dirt, but another JunkieJam will happen this year). Not only park rats needed to come out but also street riders needed to be attracted. Skateland Rotterdam has for all these riders obstacles they like to shred so we got in touch with them and without hesitation they agreed to open up their park for this event and even stepped up to the plate to make the entry free for all the riders. Because time and budget was limited we needed people to people to help us for free…
