With a start in Montpellier, then stopping in Budapest and Edmonton, the FISE World Series truly had a banging year so far. But we are not done: one last stop still needs to take place, and it will do so in Chengdu, China, from November 3-5. Sealing the deal for the 2017 season, the Chinese stop will unmistakeably push the riders to give their very best, in the hope of claiming a spot on the podium not only for the event but also for the overall FISE World Series rankings. UCI BMX Freestyle Park Finals. One of the most awaited event of the weekend was, of course, the UCI BMX Freestyle Park finals. The windy conditions yesterday played a big part in building a feeling of anticipation, and both crowd and riders were ready for a big day of finals. Mother Nature was trying to shake things off again, bringing winds averaging 23 km/h but the determination of the riders to complete their competition was stronger than the possible doubts in their minds.
Expectations were high for Brandon Loupos, after his win in FISE Budapest. Digging deep for stamina and big tricks, he was certainly putting a lot of pressure on his competitors. Not phased at all by the wind, he gave a great performance for the crowd and judges, lacing together tricks of high amplitude,

With the sun setting and the winds picking up, our top qualified BMX Freestyle Pros battled for top spot, with 24-year old Australian Brandon Loupos putting together a gold medal performance. When asked what surprised him about the finals, Loupos replied, “Actually, the biggest surprise was me winning today. I just wanted to come here and ride and do my best with all my friends. It was definitely hard because of the wind, but to win and stick both runs was a blessing and I’m stoked for that.” FISE veteran Daniel Dhers placed second, spinning and flipping all over the course with his calculated, technical tricks including his signature 360 tail-whip, grabbing 9,000 points to push him into the lead for the UCI World Cup overall rankings.
