Josh Harrington Ride BMX Cover, Team Update and Upcoming Events.
Congrats to Josh Harrington for getting the cover of Ride BMX, July 05 issue. Josh has been resting his knee up and also shooting a Vans Ad. Josh just got back from a road trip filming video parts with SCOTTY CRANMER and MIKE AITKEN. Scotty and Josh will be heading to Australia soon to film more parts. Scotty is busy riding with RYAN GUETTLER at this time. Tricks will go down this week. Ryan just got first place in dirt at the CFB in Oklahoma. He also got third in the park. Ryan was seen doing front flips on the dirt course and won best trick on park with a wall ride to flair. Next comp for Ryan is the Asian X Games in Seoul, Korea.
What would you do when you had millions in the bank and could do whatever you wanted to? Things like the Gumball 3000 rally come to mind.
After selling DC shoes to Quiksilver, Ken Block has been enjoying life even more. Block has picked up Rally driving (a nice choice to burn some $$) and has been in Europe all week as he entered the Gumball 3000 rally, a fancy car race for the rich and the famous. The Gumball race, which is being held on normal streets, started in London last Saturday and arrives in Monaco where the competitors will watch the F1 race from a boat this weekend.
"The Eagle Own" tour was the end of 3 road trips with the Twenty team. The first was "The Pirate tour", the second "El Paella tour" and now we just finished "the Eagle Own tour". This road trip, or vacation, was also to film for the first TWENTY.bmx-DVD; "The Damage is Done".
For this third road trip we decided to visit the south of Spain with cities like Gerona, Roses, Figueras and the south of Barcelona with Badalona which is a really nice place for street and maybe the last place where the cops aren't in action because in downtown Barcelona it has become really difficult to ride without cops around you after 5mn.
For the south of Spain part, Dimitri IVANOV, Jerome GAUTHIER and Alex DROPSY joined the trip. Alex Piechta was here for the photos and me to manage and film this exciting trip.
Here is what's going on:
Bcrossionale, this little likeable small film festival high up in the north of Germany, goes into the second round. To engage your motivation this summer to lay aside your BMX-Bike and put up your movie camera, we will give away cash-prizes and we will also produce a DVD from all your contributions, which we are going to sell at cost.
Rob Harrison sent in some wethepeople related news:
-We're on tour again, this time going East and to Poland. New on the European map it looks like there is a real scene building there an a lot of really enthusiastic riders and involved people. Hopefully the old/new crossover architecture will make out some decent spots and i hope that we'll experience more of Poland itself than simply riding. Just looking at some street maps of Poland makes me think that there's some crazy looking town layouts and if nothing else it's going to be one to remember. Czesc! Yes I even have a borrowed copy of 'Polnisch in 4 Wochen'...not going well. But I'll hopefully have some help from this bunch of wethepeople fools. Ashley Charles, Will Jackson, Stephen Lilly (new guy), Timo Mrukwia and Max Gaertig. There might even be someone qualified with a camera around, but then alcohol makes everyone unqualified....or more qualified depending on how you see it. Set to roll 1st June, spend some time at the Worlds and then move on East until the 14th.
It looks like Nick Busey's preparation for his trip around the world on his BMX bike could use some support. We admire his courage of just grabbing his bike and start pedaling with a few bucks in his pocket. read about his idea and if you see him at your local park, give him some space on your couch and cook him a macaroni and cheese. He'll need that power food to keep pedaling around the globe.
Hey everyone, I've been busy training and preparing for my upcoming journey. I leave in just under three months now, and it's time to get everything ready. People have been posting on the forums, and telling their friends. I've seen posts on several message boards and news listings. Donations have been trickling in over the last few weeks, and I really appreciate everyone's support.
Hey! it's time for the......... WOOZYJAM ! 22. may 2005. cologne, heinsberg, germany
Planning on woozyjam is on full throttle, building of the ramps has begun..... see you on Sunday 22 may 2005.
Personal note from Woozy: Without positve thinking there would have been no single woozy jam in the last 5 or 6 years.
Jeffrey Bignell used to be one fast BMX racer. He won many titles and then moved his interest into freestyle skiing where he has won many Dutch titles too. Jeffrey is working on a project that shoud be finished at the end of next month. It's a roll-in with a jump at the end, placed in front of a lake. That's how freestyle skiiers practice and Bignell thought it would be cool to let BMX riders use the ramp also. The ramp will have three sections. One for snowboarders, one for skiers and one for BMX. The set-up will be placed at "De Ijzeren Man" in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.
