First of all Ben Hennon is riding for King Kong BMX. Whenever he feels of his bike, King Kong is taking care of him. Marcin Stypulkowski is glad to have him on the team. And second the Markus Wilke signature glove, called the "Gorilla Glove" is now available. Everybody who buys one pair will support Markus so he doesn´t have to get a "real" job. What do you do when you're injured, you have to wait for surgery in October and you won't be able to ride after that for another six months? You can stare at your bike, pimp it up, clean it once more and to keep your sponsors happy, you send in a "Bike Check" to your favorite online magazine. "Allan Copenhagen" from Denmark rides for Simple Bikes but unfortunately won't be able to get some riding done because of a bum knee.

This contest might be something for you. If you have a buddy that you ride with and he lives in the same city or town you live in, you can form a team to enter the BMX City Battle.

Teams of two riders ride against 2 riders from another city in true battle style. The best team transfers. The day starts off with the amateur teams. The 6 best amateur riders (3 teams) will ride in the contest against the pros. The pro comp starts at 17:00hr.

All this takes place at the skatepark of Kooigem (near Kortrijk) in Belgium.

LAGUNA HILLS, CA September 1, 2006 - Talk about a competitive spirit! Two-time NBL Grand National winner and ABA's 2002 World Champion and 2004 NAG #1 in the 36 and over class has created a new patent-pending board game called NAQ, pronounced "Knack". His friends now call him "Nick NAQ", but he prefers to just go by "Nick". "I had to put off finishing NAQ because of my commitment to the sport of BMX," said Nick DiPaolo, NAQ Games President and Creator. 

The Source BMX crew are hosting a trails jam at Sidley woods trails in Bexhill-on-Sea on Saturday the 2nd of September. Everyone is welcome, there will be a BBQ there so feel free to bring some food and drink. There will be no format to the event but plently of prizes for the shredders! To find the trails head to Sidley high street (Ninfield road A269) in Bexhill-on-Sea and head to the end of Preston road, the trails are in the woods by the play park.Click the picture to your right for the flyer and more details.

But there's more. If you don't ride dirt at all (you should try it, it's fun) you can go to the "De La Warr Pavilion" for the Big Spin 2006 the next day (3 September). That one doesn't start until 2 in the afternoon so there's room to party hard on Saturday. It all sounds like a true BMX weekend in the South of England.

Santa Monica, CA – August 23, 2006 – The second installment of the Red Bull Backyard Build-Off makes its way to the suburb of Plainfield, IL., 40 miles southwest of Chicago. The contest will be held at the home of lucky contest winner Jaimy Spreitzer. Jaimy’s yard was selected to host the BMX building and riding event from September 20-23rd. After the success of last year’s event, at Matt Bischoff’s Failure Compound , the world’s best course builders will be back at it using their expertise, sweat and a little bit of sabotage in an all out battle for ramp building supremacy. Guided by famed builder Nate Wessel, the three teams of ramp designers and builders will each have the same amount of raw materials and three full days to design and construct the ultimate BMX course. The final day will see some of the worlds’ best Pro riders battle it out on the newly built ramps for a cash purse and the Red Bull Backyard Build-Off riders title. Invited riders include: Anthony Napolitan , Josh Harrington, Alan Cooke, Koji Kraft, Van Homan, Taj Mihelich, Brian Kachinsky, Chad Degroot, Brian Vowell, Rick Moliterno and Dave Freimuth,. A full rider list and builder teams will be announced soon.

Talk Show – “The Side Show”: This original Rip.TV series featuring the comedy and insight of one of the Industry’s most recognized figures: Corey Leclerc, along with our resident house DJ Josh Martinez, will entertain our weekly internet viewers, and live studio audience, with on-location comedy vignettes and one on one interviews with the top action sport professionals of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Each show will interact with an online audience through viewer emails directed at Corey, Josh, and the guests from week to week as well as satellite phone calls and iChat with Corey's guests from anywhere in the world.

Ricky Ratt and his Sheep Hills Locals crew need your help. It's not a donation of prizes or money that they want. It's help re-building Sheep Hills. The legendary spot dries out during the summer months and Direct BMX bought a generator and a water pump to help wet the dirt. Ricky Ratt: "There's a line that runs from the water to the trails. So we are pumping water every day to fill in holes and wet the dirt. We're almost done clearing all the bushes and the section we're working on right now is the 8 pack / boozer / styles/ paradise / step-up. It's me Ricky Ratt and midget Cory doing this."

On Saturday, August 26 a jam will be held at the Gleneagles skate park (West Vancouver, B.C. canada). Its sure to be fun in the sun, with music, a bbq, an am class, prizes and with Meto jam starting the following week, there's sure to be plenty of visiting pros and lots of local talent. The park is located at:
