Age: 25
Hometown: Mendoza, Argentina
Sponsors: Crupi BMX, Fly Racing, Tangent Products, Tioga, Atlas Brace, UnderFeet, Bike Art, ENARD.
Do you remember the day that you were offered to come up with your own frame at Crupi Bikes?
Federico Villegas: Yes, around May 2019 I was looking for improvement areas. I always focused more on my body than my bike, but then I realized there were some things to be done that could make my bike fit better to my riding. I suggested to Greg that I needed something extra on my frame design and he said yes right away.
Did you already know exactly what you wanted at that point?
Federico Villegas: I had some ideas but I had to study a lot on frame geometry to come up with a frame that works the best. I also knew we had room to improve in components, for with myself and Crupi are very excited to add the new disc brake mount, along with the Quad disc brake hub on the rear and the 20mm quad hub in the front, plus some nice Ikon carbon rims.
Growing up, Brooke Crain was always the smallest person at school and on the track. Her parents taught her that practice always beats talent, taking this advice to heart, Brooke spent countless hours on her bike and used her size as an advantage to become one of the fastest and most well-respected BMX racers in the world.

Bike Check:
How do you like the SPAD bike?
Sïmba Darnand: First I like the fact that it's easy to take control of a SPAD bike from the first ride and also to be incorporated into the brand's projects.
Do you use your race bike to ride trails as well?

2020 USA BMX Nabholz Bounce Back Nationals Day One
Name: Paddy Sharrock
Sponsors: Factory Tangent/Rift
Mechanic: Most of the time myself but at races like world cups it would be our team mechanic from British Cyling.
How hard is it for you to change from one BMX brand to another. Do you get used to new bikes easily?
Paddy Sharrock: Personally I don't mind it, sometimes it can be difficult when your new bike/frame may be a different length or have different head or seat angles. However, it's also a little exciting trying new things that could work better for you.
What is the geometry and length of your frame. Do you know without looking it up?
Paddy Sharrock: The only thing I have looked at when getting new bikes is top tube length. So currently I'm running a 22” top tube, I don't really worry about much else.
We heard rumors that the old BMX Track in Assen was still there. We had the idea to visit it for a while. With the country slowly opening again we thought this was the right moment to check it out!
Name: David Graf
Sponsors: Sporthilfe Schweiz, SwissCycling, Prophecy BMX, Suplest Shoes, HT Components, Lead.
Mechanic: I do it myself.
How long have you been riding the frame that you are currently on?
David Graf: I ride two bikes, one is the still the very first frame that I got last June (chrome) and the other one is a black frame I ride since January before leaving for the season opener.
How long did it take from the original design to the final product?
David Graf: Unfortunately way longer than expected. January 2018 I had my first meeting with Prophecy
Name: Annabella Hammonds
Sponsors: Supercross BMX, Speedline Parts, Fly Racing, HT Components, Tioga & Ame Grips
Mechanic: My dad! But I am always learning to work on my own bike.
How long have you been riding for Supercross BMX now?
Annabella Hammonds: This is my 6th year on the Factory Supercross team. I was “picked up” at Grands when I was 9!
How do you like the feel and look of your bike?
Annabella Hammonds: I love it, I’ve been riding a carbon bike for about 5 years. This new one is my absolute favorite in the looks department, it’s so pretty!
What is the geometry and length of your frame?
Annabella Hammonds: I have just moved from an Expert XXL (21”TT/14”Chainstay) to this bike which is a Pro XL(21.25”TT/15.2”Chainstay). I had been on the Expert XXL for a few years, and it was time to move up in size. First thing I noticed is that I don’t feel like I am way over the front end, which is nice. The longer Chainstay area is taking some practice, but my manuals and jumping is feeling a lot better.
