In an Olympic year that featured both Olympic Qualifier Series events in Hungary and China as well as the Games in Paris, the BMX Freestyle community also navigated a packed UCI BMX Freestyle World Cup season. This three-stop tour launched in Japan, moved to France, and concluded in Shanghai, China, showcasing both Park and Flatland disciplines. Heading into the Shanghai finals, France’s Anthony Jeanjean (Park Men) and Laury Perez (Park Women) held the lead in their categories, while Japan’s Yu Shoji and Nina Suzuki led the Flatland rankings. However, with 1,000 points still up for grabs, the final standings were still undecided. The Westbund area of Shanghai underwent major development over the past year, with new buildings and two nearby skateparks enhancing the event
Wer braucht schon Pegs? Tom Röhr auf jeden Fall nicht! Schließlich halten ihn Grindstangen seiner Meinung nach nur davon ab, abseits ausgetretener Trickpfade zu wandeln.
