Last night I wrote an info piece on the upcoming Mini FATJAM with details on where, who, what, when, and why. Then, when I wanted to add a photo, things got weird and the write-up disappeared. I hate it when that happens as writing it for a second time is never the same. Now I want to rush this as I had already typed things up last night. But anyway, here we go again so you have the info you need when making plans to come to Aarle-Rixtel on Saturday 25 March 2023.
The Mini FATJAM will held at the Sugar Hills, located at the Valkendijk in Aarle-Rixtel. Google it, check the distance, and then say; let's GO! The trails have been fixed up and are in good condition, even now already so pre-sessions are possible. They are free now and they will be free on 25 March, as is parking, spectator access, toilet use, etc. We just want to get everyone together to celebrate the opening of the outdoor season.
With a bit of luck we can convince Masterchef Fritske Maat again to flip some burgers. Feel free to bring your own booze/drinks/snacks/food/chairs/tents as we're not out there to make money on this as we haven't from the start. The trails have been around since 1990 and has hosted two jams every year. It would be easy to call it quits and enjoy the weekend off, but it brings so much joy to all the BMX-ers from the 4 year old nibbler to the 50+ old school crew. Big day today for the BMX riders as it was the finals of the first round of the 2023 UCI BMX Freestyle World Cup in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. Men and Women fought all day for the first places on the podiums. What a show from the Women riders today. The first heat of riders already set the bar high with the Olympic Champion Charlotte WORTHINGTON’s flair and 360 over the spine and the Chinese rider Qian ZHENG showing the judges and public a backflip turndown and tailwhip on the beginning of her run, 540 and huge 360 turndown.
The second heat continued in this vein with a perfect run from Perris BENEGAS, and Jiaqi SUN first trick 360 tailwhip followed by massive 360 x-up to E.T and so many more tricks.
Day 2 of the first stop of the 2023 UCI BMX Freestyle World Cup in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. On the programme today it was Women’s qualifications and Men’s semi-finals. The Women qualifications started strong with huge tricks from the Chinese riders. Backflip from Quian ZHENG, Suicide no hander from Sibei SUN and a Tailwhip from Jiaqi SUN, the Chinese women showed their skills on the bike and managed to qualify for the finals. As usual, Hannah ROBERTS, Perris BENEGAS, Nikita DUCARROZ and Charlotte WORTHINGTON turned the ramps on fire with some impressive Backflips, 360 Tuck no hander, Tailwhips and so much more. With her 540, Nene NAITO impressed the judges and took 2nd place just behind the World Champion Hannah ROBERTS.
The 2023 UCI BMX Freestyle World Cup starts this week with a round in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. In a breathtaking place with great stakes for the riders, the show was impressive for the first day and the qualifications. To qualify for the semi-finals, riders from all around the world had to show their best tricks and skills during two runs of 1 minute. Judged on different criteria (difficulty, height, originality, flow, etc), riders give to the public some massive tricks such as a 720 double bar, double backflip, 360 condor transfer, 180 whip on the spine, cashroll, front flair, superman backflip, huge transfers, and so much more.

Kicking off the 2023 season, the first round of the UCI BMX Freestyle World Cup starts today in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, with a great program for the best international riders. BMX Freestyle is back in Saudi Arabia at international level and with a competition open to women for the first time in the country. The best riders from around the world will compete in the Park format at Diriyah to try to win the first medal of the 2023 UCI BMX Freestyle World Cup and with a view to earning points towards qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
About 30 female riders, from across the world will compete, representing France, China, the United States, Australia, Japan, Switzerland, Germany, Chile, Argentina, the United Kingdom and many more.
BMX Freestyle Park international events are back with a round of the 2023 UCI BMX Freestyle World Cup in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia! The first round of the 2023 UCI BMX Freestyle World Cup is coming soon. Open for men and women the competitions will be part of the Diriyah Urban Festival and incorporated in the second edition of Diriyah Season. Amateurs and Juniors will also compete in their own dedicated competitions. During five days, riders from all around the world are going to Saudi Arabia to fight for the win and show their best tricks to the public.
