Steven Wong is having a 3 week break away from the UCI training centre, where he¹s residing for this season European and World Championship Races. He is back home enjoying some family time and catching up with his friends while preparing for rounds 9&10 of the European Championships Series on his home track in Dessel (Belgium). During his break, he profited to compete in round 1 of the Flanders Cup in Ravels taking home the win.

For the last few years, the lightest and most advanced Race Frame on the market has been the Supercross S7, the Scandium tubed Superframe that Samantha Cools piloted to 3 UCI North American Titles and took to the 2008 Olympics. The only problem with the Supercross S7 was price, Scandium is expensive. All of Europe’s top BMXers converged on Creazzo, Italy for Rounds 5&6 of the Championship series. After much success in the Czech Republic weeks earlier, Redline’s Global Teams were hoping to keep up the 35 year tradition of making mains and placing on the podium. With the entire Dutch National team (some on their new orange/white ’09 Flight frames), along with Redline-France, Redline-Italy and Redline-Norway present; the odds were once again stacked in Redline’s favor. 
The UCI Supercross season kicked off in Denmark last weekend. You could watch it live here on FATBMX until the gate dropped for the Men's final. The screen froze and left everyone, who watched the live broadcast live, guessing who had won. It turned out that Ivo van der Putten crossed the finish line in first. Something that not many people had expected. We checked in with Ivo to see what happened:Going into the first Supercross race of the season I don't think many people had predicted to see you on the top of the podium at the end of the race. How confident were you when you went to Denmark?
Ivo: Confident is not the right word for me, I was just feeling great the last few weeks. I had a great winter. We’d been in France for 45 days, we all came back stronger, and looked forward to the races. It just all came together.

3000 spectators had a blast as the world best BMX riders fought their way to the finals in the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup round taking place in Copenhagen on Saturday 9 may 2009. Copenhagen is bidding to host the 2012 World BMX Championships, and judging by this weekend’s event, the city of Copenhagen and its bicycle-crazy inhabitants are really up for it. The beautiful spring weather certainly didn’t harm the event either.
