Premium Products has this super thin 6061 T6 aluminum pedal hitting the market in November.The pedal is 14mm at the thinnest point and 17mm at the thickest point and weighs less that 16 oz per pair. They will be available in black, brown and red anodized colors with laser etched artwork on both sides.

If you look at the bikes of sponsored pro riders you will notice parts that you have never seen before. We noticed these pedals on Mike Spinner's bike when he was over in Germany. Mike said they were prototype pedals, have a titanium axle and are super light. They've got a low profile and have a knurled central surface. They will come in two versions; The Black Label M3 Gas pedal (with ti axle) and the regular M3 which has a 9/16" crmo axle. Colours: Raw and black. Available in a few weeks (fall 2007).

The 66th issue of Props video magazine has an international feel to it. Leo Forte (UK) gets the cover and is featured in the United Bike Co Southern road trip with Ian Morris, Ricky Feather, Caleb Kilby and the rest of the United crew. Aussies Ryan Guettler and Nick Cooper rip it up at the Brawlin' at the Belmar in Binghampton, an event that brought back fun into BMX. Props enters European soil when they made it to Devon for the Red Bull Empire of rain. Still they show an indoor session at the barn and the Decoy trails. Props made it over to the BMX Masters in Cologne for more international footage but issue 66 didn't forget the USA completely with a scene report on the Flow skatepark in Ohio and a JJ Palmere Bio.

4130 Publishing Ltd., a factory Media company, released their August issue of Moto magazine a few weeks ago. That wouldn't make it to the BMX news pages of FATBMX if there was no BMX connection in it. Tim March wrote a story about how BMX got influenced by Motocross when it first started out in the USA in the early seventies (late fifties in Holland!). And these days rider like James Stewart and Chad Reed are taking BMX skills to the motocross track. The "Old Dogs, New Tricks" article starts on page 54. Is Supercross the new BMX?

100 pages of BMX form issue number 137 of RIDEBMX. It's got the high quality photos as you have come to expect and a whole lot of new ads that are usually good to look at too. Mirraco's Dave Rytell whips some train tracks in San Fran, Allan Cooke does a rail to rail for a DC ad, Jimmy Levan goes crooked on a big rail in an Odyssey spread, Sergio Layos gets the etnies ad with a downside whip, Colin MacKay barspins over a fence (Haro) and Gary Young does a ridiculous ditch wall ride for a new Vans advertisement. The ads are making the mag better. Rob Wise scores his third full page with the same picture. It was featured in a French magazine, a German mag and now in RIDEBMX. Kosman shot it.

The September issue of BMX Plus! felt kind of thick. But this time of the year, companies try to get their 2008 catalog in the middle of the mag to reach a lot of potential customers quickly. The company that teamed up for this issue is Diamondback. Their catalog is 32 pages thick.

This leaves 100 pages of BMX Plus! material which includes bike tests from KHE, Redline and Volume, The Props Megatour, 5 questions with Heath Pinter, Biz' bike check, the NBL Golden State nationals, KOG, ABA Nor Cal Nats, Rumble at the Coliseum, and the regulars like Tech Tip, On the Move, Moving pictures, Product Probe, Mailbag, Ask the BMXperts, Mini mart, Parting shot, Shop directory, Trick Stuff and the Inside Scoop.

The 2007 August-September issue of Soul BMX Experience is their 50th issue. Congrats to the Soul staff to start with. The cover has a Summer feeling to it. John Garcia is looking back on 50 issues of Soul in a colourful way. There's a BIO on Anthony Abbadie on page 12 and one on Libellule on page 14. Pierre Blondel gets a full page doing a 50/50 down a handrail backward without pegs. He answers some questions too.

Recently we talked about a contest we visited in Abbeville, France. Ralf Maier brought back some memories of a trip to France that took 3 hours longer (each way) than I'd planned. This caused Paul's Army Dodge pick up truck to run out of liquid gas and it turned into a lot of stress. Ralf won some pants in miniramp and traded it with my trophy in the same class. I had plenty of those plastic cups already and thought it was a good trade. Anyway, Abbeville hosted the 10th contest and we weren't there but SOUL was. 

A free magazine? Doesn't get much better than that. Cream made a "Hors-Serie" issue with paper a little less quality but still 100 of them and distributed them in the month of July/August at several contests. Here's a little contents list of HS-#5:
