With over $38G prize money for BMX alone, some of the top vert riders still opted to go to the first round of the Dew tour. Most of them were pulled in by their sponsors but some of them tried to qualify for the rest of the tour. I doubt they had as much fun as everyone had at the Snickers Bowl comp in Donington. The contest is held at the Download festival that attracts 120.000 hardrockers over the weekend. That, in itself, is a show. Had everyone with a black T-shirt left, they would probably have a crowd of 200 left over.
The wooden Soul Bowl with the kink was set up and basically put in the

Florian Schüle is going to organize a Flatland contest in Baiersbronn (Freudenstadt) on the 16 & 17 of July. Read on what Flo has to say:
These are the second "Black Forest Masters" that I am organizing. The first time in October 2001 the riders came from Berlin, Stuttgart, Munich, Bitterfeld, Wien and so on to join the contest.
The contest is going to take place in a skating hall and will last for two days. On Saturday we are going to organize a party on a barbecue-site after the contest. Everybody who wants, can camp next to the barbecue-site.
The contest will start at 10 AM on Saturday. The riders can choose between three different classes and they will have time to practice. At 3 PM the qualifying for the finals will be started. On Sunday the finals will be held.
No Problemo DVD, presented by RedBull
At RedBull they like to do things a little different. This time they invited a good bunch of riders and media to go ride a drainage ditch somewhere in Mexico. Don't ask who comes up with those ideas but it sounds like an adventure every time they put something on. No Problemo is a DVD with footage from the trip. The riders were transported from place to place by local drivers and were welcomed by local riders at each spot. The hired camera men captured the riding but also the fun stuff and did interviews with the riders later on to explain the situations in the DVD. It actually makes for a rather good DVD with some cool graphics and good editing. With riders such as Corey Martinez, Gary Young, Mike Escamilla, Jim Bauer, Jon Taylor, Bas Keep, Edwin Delarosa, Bob Scerbo and Rob Tibbs you can expect some interesting riding on foreign terrain. The actual event almost didn't happen because a day before the ramps were swimming in the ditch. Somehow it dried up for next day's contest and made for some unique footage.
At FATBMX we're not afraid to bring something different, even if it involves skateboarding. During the Snickers Bowl at the Download festival in Donington last week, some true skateboard legends were flown in to do some skating in the wooden bowl. Most of you might not remember names like Kevin Staab, Mike McGill, Duane Peters, Steve Olson, Tony Alva, Sean Goff and Nicky Guerrero but those are some legendary skateboarders who have paved the way for loads of skateboarders that started after them.
Being a judge we were on the same schedule as the true pool skaters. We stayed in the same hotel, drank at the same bar, sat in the same bus and listened to the same bands at the festival (Slayer, Megadeth,

It's hard to cover every event this summer simply because there is so much going on and we cannot be everywhere at the same time. Matt Jones took on the job to make a report for FATBMX of the first stop of the Dew Tour. Things didn't go exactly as planned for Matt but he did send in some exclusive pics of the event and wrote down some words.
Hey Bart, sorry about the hold up. The week of the Dew Action Sports Tour was out of control. The van that we took out there broke down as soon as we got to Louisville. Then I had to pay $250 to fix the van (water pump) and had 3 hours of sleep. Rode the street course at 6am and stayed there the whole day delirious as hell.

A flatland cover on Dig, are you kidding me? Leave it to the DIG crew to come up with different covers. Some things have changed as far as publishing the magazine goes but you wouldn't notice from the outside. Also that Will Smyth is now based in Scotland (Glasgow) and not Northern Ireland (Belfast), doesn't show in any way in this international BMX mag. Ed Docherty sends out magazine info on a regular basis. The #46 info we received today. Click on the info to read what you can find.
