Going on a trip where you don't have everything planned out is fun. Going with the flow is something you've got to live with that way and for a change that's good. At least I like it. Frank picked Barry, Mark and myself up at the airport and drove us to a tent in Pessac where Park practice was going on. 25 at a time turned into 55 riders at the same time on a semi-tight course. Half of them were brakeless too so it was a mess (as usual). Tomorrow is qualifying. Last year there were 100 ams and 50 pros and the comp lasted 8 hours. I hope it will be different tomorrow but I'm afraid it won't be. All this time I wasn't sure where I was going to stay but we ended up booking into the Premier Classe hotel which is far from first class if you ask me. Definitely booze needed to make it through the night here but we're on our way there so things should work out. We'll keep you posted from here.

With one day to add to the stats we can already say that October 2008 was the best month in FATBMX.com's history. Visitor wise that is. We passed the mark of 150.000 unique visitors and reached over 8 million hits this month. Pretty unbelievable considering we used to make a 'zine and printed 125 copies of it. The FAT-'zines are now all online . You can flip through all the issues on a rainy day or when it gets too cold to go ride. It will keep you occupied for a while,

You all know how amazing Sam Foakes' riding is and those of you who met him know what a great guy he is. It is a big privilege having him as part of Zion family. Here is what Sam has to say about this:

"I have made the decision to change my sponsorship from KGB to Zion bikes This opportunity is an exciting change for me. We are currently working on a signature frame which I will endorse. It is going to be slightly longer (19.1" TT) and heavier (cca 4.5lb) than the current trend in flatland frames follows. The reason for this is I want a frame that will last me and hopefully last other riders who like to ride hard . I would like to take this chance to say a massive thank you to Martti and Viki, riding for KGB had always been a dream of mine and 

If we are busy in the shop some things are forgotten so planning this years PB Tour was done in a few days. No time to call some sponsors for the tour so I took my wallet and found Euro 500,- to spend in 3 days with 6 people.

Riccardo Moes is our "team manager" and googled some spots in Germany. He even hooked us up with Arnhemse Meisjes, uh I mean Rik Jurjes who joined us to film the whole tour. No we are not going to make any DVD's, let's say Youtube killed the sale of VDO's/DVD's a long time ago and who wants a PB DVD anyway?!

-This year you managed to win the Dew Tour dirt series. How did it feel to raise that cup at the end of the road?
Cam: It felt great haha. At the start of the year it was one of my goals to try and reach and after putting in a lot of work, it really felt great knowing you achieved something that you set out to do.

-Last year you were pretty close, what happened?
Cam: Well last year I did have a shot at winning it. Nyquist had to be in 5th or worse and I had to win for me to get the cup. Well Nyquist was in 5th place as I dropped in for my last run and all I needed to do was land my run, but I slipped my pedal on the flip bar to whip. Not to worry, these things happen.
