Here's the latest on Mike himself: Mike had an examination by the ophthalmologist. It started out fine, Mike was cooperative. As the exam progressed Mike became agitated. The ophthalmologist could not see far enough into the back of Mike’s eyes to see the root of the optic nerve. The exam could not be completed. They will attempt it again next week and they will sedate Mike. They say another week won’t hurt. They withheld any findings pending the finishing a full exam. That is all I know right now. There are several different ways to promote a product. The people at Strictly BMX in Australia send out a newsletter on a regular basis and they come up with some original stuff like the Vander T-shirt for instance. Their latest mailing had some nice shots of the new VANS shoe arrival that they received. The kicks can be used for self defence as shown in the three photos that came with the mailing. In your face, on the floor and in the nuts. Good stuff. 
If you need an excuse to experience the Czech Republic this is it. The Bike Hall contest takes place from 9-10 May in the Trutnov Ice stadium. Prize money for BMX is 1000 Euros for first, 800 for 2nd and 500 for 3rd place. Best trick: €300. Worth the gamble to go? 
From 5 to 6 April 2008, the second round of the FISE EXPERIENCE Tour, takes place in the French ski station of AURON (Alpes Maritimes). The concept is a tour in 6 cities with prize money and a lots of gifts. For the winner in BMX of FISE EXPERIENCE Tour, a car FIAT 4X4 CROSS is to win. For this stage the ranking is coefficient 2. 
We told everyone to bring their sunglasses but we weren't too convinced about the weather to be honest. We had snow showers on Monday-Wednesday with the jam coming up on Saturday. Not a good sign I tell you. But the Sugar Hills trails can soak up some aqua as was proven by the perfect shape they were in for a good session during the Mini-FAT-JAM. Loads of people showed up from all over which was nice to see. The snow could have held them back but those who did show up did not regret it. With no real contest program on the schedule you could ride as much as you wanted. With so many riders present I tried to choose the moments that weren't too busy but the line to get on top of the starting hill was always there. For an old dog that's okay because you can get your rest in.
I love it when things fall into place. In the morning Paul received a phone call from Aafke (Vans Holland) who said they were going to throw a BBQ for everyone. Their van was packed with burgers, sateekes, Coronas, bread, Bavaria and while the burgers were
Issue 12 had a green color. In the beginning we picked our color but after some issues we did not care. As long as it wasn't the same color as the previous issue it was okay. The cover photo on the green paper came out nice.
Issue 12 had the infamous Believe it, or not?! news section, a reader photo section and also an MBL concert report. We used to have some ramps at the end of our street that we set up differently all the time. It was our ghetto skatepark but it worked for us. We also rode our scooters there, see page 9 and 10.
RAD-LAME list, of course! Entered a Talent Show at school and won! One DJ, one rapper and me flatlanding on stage. We got a trophy and a day off. Sweet.

KwaZulu-Natal's Deon Mulder is a young man that knows how to seize an opportunity when it presents itself. The 19-year-old Pinetown rider proved this when he claimed both Elite Men's titles at the first two rounds of the 2008 MTN BMX National championship Series held at Giba Gorge in Sout Africa. With a handful of the country's top Elite male riders currently competing abroad, a new crop of riders were able to sample the view from a national champs podium and Mulder, who races for Team Cycle Crazy,
