Round 9 of the 2006 ABA Pro series national events was held this past weekend at the Rockford BMX track. Rockford is known as one of the smoothest and fastest tracks on the national tour and is one of the best tracks in the nation. A purse power track, Rockford showcases the riders that have been putting in the time training. Hot and humid conditions met the riders smack on at the start of the race weekend on Saturday, and Sunday was an all day rain laden race day. Both days had exciting race action from the Double A Marketing pros who were in attendance. Here is how Kyle Bennett and Randy Stumpfhauser finished up the weekend:
Kyle Bennett has become the most dominant AA Pro in the past month. Kicking things off last weekend with 2 Elite Pro wins in Evansville, Kyle backed it up with another 2 huge AA Pro wins at the Rock. On Saturday, Kyle won all 3 AA Pro main events, pulling every AA Pro in Rockford. Kyle had huge leads and his trademarked effortless looking riding style had all the pros scratching their heads.
The NBL race in Evansville saw some winners (Kyle Bennett) and some people injured (Lundy lost his kidney). We've got the results for you and also two press releases that we received from Double A marketing and Formula. SUNDAY Elite Men 1 Kyle Bennett 2 Jason Rogers 3 Robert de Wilde 4 Donny Robinson 5 Mike Day 6 Matt Pohlkamp 7 Javier Colombo 8 Jarrett Kolich
From Nate Berkheimer: "I just got home last night from the Riverside County Hospital where I spent the last 3 days being treated for a broken femur. It was a total freak accident, I simply bailed on a jump and ran out of it, on my 3rd step, I felt my leg bend backwards and I heard a loud pop. I collapsed, layed down in pain and waited for the ambulance. This happened around 5:00pm on Sunday, May 28th. I spent the night in the Hospital and was sent into surgery the next day around 12:00 noon. It went perfect and I now have a titanium rod running the full length of my left femur held in place by 4 screws. I do not have any cast or splint and the doctors told me to slowly try to walk on it. "
The ABA held round #8 of the 2006 Pro Series at Lake Perris, CA Lake Perris has been a long time favorite of the ABA, as in the past. Lake Perris was host for the ABA Fall Nationals, as well as other national events. The Lake Perris track is smack dab in the middle of an action filled area, with a Motocross track, a shifter cart track, sprint car track, and a dirt jump/skate park, all located at the same facility. The Lake Perris BMX track is one of the best so cal tracks of today and it made for some of the best Pro racing in a long time. 24 AA Pros came to win this weekend and 2 of the Double A Marketing riders were ready to as well. Here is how they did this weekend;
Round #6 of the 2006 NBL Pro Series was held this past weekend in Prunedale, CA and with just 2 more NBL Pro Series event left, the title chase is getting hot. Donny Robinson had a nice lead in the Elite men's point for most of the season, but after a great weekend of results for both Double A Marketing riders in attendance, Randy Stumpfhauser and Kyle Bennett have both chipped away at the points lead and put themselves in great positions to take home another NBL #1 Pro title. Here is how the weekend went for both riders:
Randy Stumpfhauser had a weekend to remember in Prunedale.
The ABA National #1 Amateur Titles are really starting to tighten up, and with Atlanta and Lake Perris just around the corner things will only get tighter. Both the ABA National #1 Boy and Girl will again be winners of brand spanking new Yamaha Waverunners, so you can bet the pressure will be high come ABA Grands time. Here's a quick look at the standings as of ABA Super Nationals in Desoto, TX.
The Doc says he’s ready to go. The fractured shoulder, suffered at the NBL Nellis race is healed, and Redline’s Bubba Harris will return to the starting gate this weekend. Without question, he is looking forward to getting back on a track and bumping his points back to the top of the standings. Only one question remained; whether to make the return in Prunedale, CA or Atlanta, GA – as this weekend is one of only two “overlap” weekends in 2006. Tough choice. But being that no Pro in the history of BMX has ever taken three consecutive No.1 Pro titles in the ABA, Redline has made the call for Bubba to attend the Dixieland Natls in Marrietta, Georgia – at Margie Hatfield’s Cobb County BMX track.
