The second annual DC Sprint trails race took place over the weekend at Randy Stumpfhauser's backyard in California. A bunch of pros showed up to race one-on-one in sunny conditions. The 10 second girl was a nice addition to the race that was held on a well groomed trail track. Last year's winner Randy Stumpfhauser was once again the man to beat and everyone, including Robert de Wilde, failed to eliminate the new daddy. Robert ended up racing for 3rd against Aaron Johnson. Aaron beat Robert once and Robert beat Aaron once. The time difference was in Aaron's advantage so he grabbed third place. Mike Day had transfered to the final by beating Johnson and had to take on the GT rider. In heat one, Mikey Day crashed which gave Randy a 1.5 second advantage going in the final race. Staying on the bike and close to Mike in the second heat was all Stumpy had to do to win but instead he grabbed the second heat as well. True champ.

BOMBSHELL INC. is proud to announce the release of it's NEW & INNOVATIVE method for solving an age old problem with BMX race frames. The PATENT PENDING VPS™ (V-Brake Position System) allows the use of a 20" x 1 1/8" or 1 3/8 TIRE to be used in a PRO SIZED frame. It also can be used to accept a 20" x 1.5" or 1 3/4" TIRE in an EXPERT or SMALLER sized frame. The VPS™ can also be used on Cruiser sized rims as well.
Prior to the release of the BOMBSHELL VPS™, expensive LONG REACH brakes had to be used to get the brake pad in the optimal location, often compromising the wheel base of the bike to get the brake pads to contact the rim.

Arcadia, California – After an unfortunate crash in Guthrie, Oklahoma, Mike Moeller has torn his ACL and had to undergo surgery on March 7th to repair the damage. The surgery went very well and Mike has been going through rehabilitation 3 times per day. The doctor told Mike that a full recovery would take 4 months until he could be back to the level he was at before the accident. However, since Mike is stronger than most, the doctor thinks he could be back even sooner. Mike is expected to be back on his bike in early April to begin training again.
While Redline’s reigning No.1 ABA Pro and UCI World Champion Bubba Harris recoups from a fractured shoulder, Redline has taken the opportunity to help out and support one of the guys who helped bring Redline to the top rung of the BMX ladder – past National Champion John Purse. Purse, who was planning on racing the upcoming Florida NBL event without a sponsor, was contacted following the news that Bubba would be missing the next 2 rounds, and a short 2-month agreement was quickly reached.
Round 5 of the 2006 ABA Pro Series was held this past weekend at the world famous Black Mountain track in Phoenix, Arizona. The Black Mountain track has to be the smoothest track on the ABA tour, and one of the fastest tracks as well. With a weekend of great weather, over 300 action packed moto's, and the worlds fastest Pro riders in attendance, it would make for an epic BMX race weekend. Here is how the Double A Marketing riders in attendance finished up for the weekend.
Randy Stumpfhauser had another great weekend of racing, with 2 podium finishes. On Saturday, Randy was looking super smooth and fast all day, and when it was time for the AA Pro main, he was one of the standout riders on the track. Randy finished up just out of the 1st place spot, with a 2nd overall . This was his 5th podium in AA Pro in as 5 races in the ABA. In Pro Cruiser, Randy finished up 5th. On Sunday, Randy looked to podium again in AA Pro, but a 8th place finish in the first main would not allow it and give him 5th for the day.
The day after the Mini-FAT-JAM it was another early day when Sander, Bern and Rob picked me up to go to Belgium for the first MX GP of the 2006 season. One hour later we parked the car on the Zolder circuit and stepped in the mud to watch early morning practice. It started to rain a bit but fortunately it dried up in the afternoon so we could watch some exciting racing going on and most and for all, we same a new battle in the MX1 class between Stefan Everts, and Sebastien Tortelli! The MX2 class saw some great racing too with 6 different leaders over the 2 heats. Read what went on exactly in the official press report from the people at Youthstream.
