The Stoppelcross MX season has kicked off with the first race being held in Handel, Noord-Brabant. It had rained loads but on arrival the track looked okay. Preparation for the race had been shitty, with only 3 MX sessions in 2012 and the Red Bull Skylines happening the week before. On Saturday morning we rolled out of the Paris club at 6am, slept for a couple of hours and drove back home. I packed the van that night and got up on Sunday at 6am to go to Handel. It was a challenge making it to the first race. 
Personally I'm not a big fan of the cruiser class. For me BMX is all about the 20" bike. But some people are and GT's got this 26" version in the Speed Series line that might work for you. Either on the track, of for the rides downtown. It sure looks the part. This past weekends ABA National rounds where held in Orlando Florida. The three day race weekend turned out to be quite draining on everyones body. Its very uncommon throughout the season to race three separate race meetings over three days. Before heading off to Florida we celebrated my 22nd Birthday and yep...I definitely got spoilt :) The ABA race format for Elite Women is three heats (mottos) then a final each day. Day 1: Haro's Brooke Crain and myself battled to get the whole-shot (lead) and inside run going into turn one.
After many years racing on Redline bicycles, the national Dutch BMX racing team will make the move to Meybo bikes at the beginning of 2013. The contract will go till after the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Says Dutch BMX coach Bas de Bever: "The advantage over the Redline bikes will be that each and every racer on the team will be able to get a bike custom made to their likings. This will automatically help with the process of becoming a better and faster rider, something we're always looking into."
