I had a tough season duo injuries and crashing, but fortunately I made the podium 3 times last weekend during the UCI BMX Supercross in Chula Vista... More than a week ago I flew to San Diego with the Dutch National Team for the final round of the UCI BMX Supercross in Chula Vista. During the week we did some easy training sessions and we’ve been to the Oakley Dirtlab to ride the pumptrack and pick up some cool products. 

The annual SWATCH BMX SX AWARDS were handed out to the winners over in San Diego on the evening after the last race of the season. And the winners are:
-Coach of the year: German Medina (COL)
-The Step Up Award: Khalen Young (AUS)
-Best Pass Of the Year: Sam Willoughby (AUS)
-Best Crash Of The Year: Raymon Van Der Biezen (NED)
-Best Event Of the Year: Chula Vista (USA)

Chase BMX Pro rider Connor Fields, in demanding fashion on Saturday afternoon, won the Men’s Elite Class at the final stop of the 2011 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup tour. In front of his family, fans, and viewers that were able to watch the racing live on Freecaster and Universal Sports, Connor had a perfect day, as he won every lap during the race.

On the first day of racing at the UCI BMX Supercross in Chula Vista, things kicked off on a high note for Connor, as he won both the Time Trail and Super Final TT event on Friday. “This is my home track. I have done hundreds of time trials here before,” said Fields. "That was my fastest one ever. I know

The best Elite BMX riders of the world battled it out under the blazing Southern Californian sun to determine the winners of the fourth UCI BMX Supercross World Cup series sponsored by Swatch. Connor Fields (USA) was on fire all weekend and claimed victory. Arielle Martin (USA) won the women’s final. Drama in men’s final Connor Fields was the favorite going into the final. He must have felt very confident as he took the lead in the first turn of the final to never look back. That was perfect

The best Elite BMX riders of the world battled it out under the Southern California sun with two Americans coming away winners of the fourth UCI BMX Supercross World Cup series presented by Swatch. Connor Fields (Henderson, Nev./Chase BMX) was on fire all weekend and claimed victory in the elite men’s main while Arielle Martin (Pleasant Grove, Utah/Intense BMX) won the women’s final in front of a live television audience on Universal Sports. On the first day of racing at the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup series presented by Swatch, BMX star Connor Fields convincingly won the Elite men’s time trials. Brooke Crain outperformed all the more experienced Elite women riders and did the same thing. After one round of time trials the best 16 men and ladies qualified for the Superfinal Time Trials. Fields, who was fastest in the first run, scored his best ever time (33.886) at the Chula Vista track. With that personal record Fields bumped Tory Nyhaug (CAN) out of the hot seat. Nyhaug (34.191) was only there for a few seconds. Raymond van der Biezen was in third with a time of 34.409.

With this result Fields and Crain secured the best spot going into the finals on October 1st. In total, 64 men will qualify for the 1/8 finals and 32 women for the quarterfinals. Fast Fields Fields rode the perfect race twice. “This is my home track. I have done hundreds of time trials here before. That was my fastest one ever. I know what to do and I know my way around this track. It definitely helps having a race at your home track.”

Willers pulled out Marc Willers (NZL), one of the favorites for this World Cup victory, had to pull out of competition today. Willers, who won the Papendal and London Supercross events this year, was one of the only riders able to threaten Joris Daudet (FRA) for the overall World Cup title. However, Willers’ injury was too painful to allow him to race.

The final stop of the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup series presented by Swatch got underway in Chula Vista, Calif. on Friday with two Americans, Connor Fields (Henderson, Nev./Chase BMX) and Brooke Crain (Visalia, Calif./Haro-Rockstar), coming away with the men’s and women’s victories in the time trial superfinal. After one round of time trials the best 16 men and ladies qualified for the time trial superfinals. Fields posted the fastest time of the nearly 150 elite men in the opening time trial heat with a 34.073.
