The best Elite BMX riders in the world will get together on September 30th and October 1st in Chula Vista, California for 2011 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup finals, presented by Swatch. During this fourth stop in California, home of BMX, the overall winners of this year’s Elite men and Elite women in the BMX SX World Cup will be decided. Moreover, crucial qualification points are up for grabs for National Olympic qualification rankings.

Home of BMX The California Supercross event will be held at the United States Olympic Committee Training Centre in Chula Vista. The track is a challenging, spiced up replica of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games track and is a favorite amongst the world’s best Elite riders.

One of the most prestigious and exiting events in all of BMX is the annual State vs. State NBL President’s Cup, and one of the most frequently asked questions is, “When and where will the President’s Cup be?”. As the face of BMX racing in North America evolves and the NBL and ABA National Series are molded into one mega series under USA BMX, great events like the Presidents Cup are taking on a whole new meaning. We are pleased to announce that the 2011 USA BMX President’s Cup will be hosted on Friday, November 25, 2011 in conjunction with the 2011 ABA Grand Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

When deciding the location for this amazing event major considerations were taken into account. Paramount among them were pairing the State vs. State ABA event with the NBL State vs. State event and finding a central location to ensure participation from the entire USA BMX membership which is now evenly geographically distributed across the U.S.

USA Cycling is pleased to announce and congratulate the winners of its 2011 election for the 30 open seats on its seven new sport committees. "I would like to welcome the newly-elected members of our sport committees and applaud them for taking the initiative to run for a position within USA Cycling's committee structure," said Steve Johnson, CEO of USA Cycling. "I truly appreciate the effort and passion displayed by all of the candidates who ran; and I look forward to working with the sport committees to help shape the future of bike racing in America."

Earlier this year, USA Cycling's Board of Directors approved a revised organizational governance plan with the goal of ensuring the bylaws and operating principles of the company accurately reflect the current business models of the sport today and for the foreseeable future. The new governance structure is designed to clarify roles and responsibilities and eliminate ambiguity in the original documents created in 1995.
