Two Queensland riders took out the first round of the BMX National Tour on the Gold Coast today. Sunshine Coast rider, Dirk Winter returned to national racing by taking out first round of the National Tour on the Gold Coast. The 19 year old took to the lead after training partner Joel Clark left a gap. “I was pushing it. I gave it everything,” exclaimed Winter.
“Overall I’m probably the best under pressure. I use that pressure and it makes me ride better. I put pressure on everybody else and come out on top.” Winter was a world silver medallist at 14 years of age and admits to having ‘lived and breathed’ BMX. However after recently taking a year and a half off the bike the 19 year old has discovered a renewed enthusiasm for the sport. Second was strong local rider,
